If it contained sulphur coming from underwater vents there should be a smell. Or could it be plankton related? Those poor folks don’t need anything else to worry about.

Yellow means some kind of sulfur compound. I have a dim recollection that the amount of sulfur dioxide in the air shows some correlation with an impending earthquake.

I’m expecting Seattle to get their 9.0 magnitude EQ any time now. Last one was in 1700 AD and is overdue.
Maybe Gojira will show up next there! Could be the next hit for Japanese movies.

Why does Japan let these things happen? Don't they have an EPA?
Maybe we could send them a couple hundred trial lawyers ... airdrop 'em right onto the yellow spot and put a quick end to whatever is causing it.

The bay is about 500 driving miles from Fukushima so I’d say about 300 miles as the crow flies. Don’t know if any shakes, rattles and rolls in Osaka would be the final straw on the nuke’s bulging #4 wall or not. Either way, I wouldn’t want to be on the island these days.
