Do you understand why the military and the rest of life has a male standard, and a female standard?

You are close to 60 years of age, female, and were never in the military, and you are old enough to remember what happened to our police departments when they had to reduce standards to allow women.

Your identity politics, game playing means soldiers deaths, and the possible end of the United States.

You keep saying that, ‘well, if we don’t change standards’, this is 2012, not 1970, that is recognized as totally ridiculous, if standards wouldn’t change we wouldn’t be having this conversation. The Rangers would have been of mixed sex many centuries ago if that were the case.

No, rlmorel, I will only be happy if (1) the standards remain the same as they are now, (2) if those f Soldiers are equal to any eligible m Soldier who is eligible for Ranger School and (3) if the slots are awarded to the best qualified candidate not the best PC candidate. Then and only then will I be happy. I do not expect equal outcome. But equal opportunity would be nice.

Just great. This is from the article

*”The result, according to a study released last year, is that half of the women surveyed during deployment suffer urinary or vaginal infections.”

Other key findings and recommendations:

» Create a simple kit that allows women to self-test for urinary or vaginal infections without having to approach a company medic, often a man, about symptoms.

» Provide better security for tent lodging and bathrooms to lessen the risk of sexual assaults.

» Urge the Army, Marines and Air Force to conform with a Navy provision allowing 12 months for new mothers to spend with newborns to take full advantage of the health benefits of breast-feeding.

» Sponsor more research into better understanding of the mental health issues that develop when mothers separate from families to go to war.

The standards will not stay the same. There is far more interest in the political side than the “maintaining the capability” side, FRiend.

I referenced the negative aspects of "logistics" in one of my previous posts, and I think this is an example of just that:

"...Create a simple kit that allows women to self-test for urinary or vaginal infections without having to approach a company medic, often a man, about symptoms..."

Are these "simple kits" going to take the place of battle dressings or ammo on a critical resupply? And is there going to have to be a female medic in every unit that has a female in it?

These are "the turd in the punch bowl" questions that Phyllis Schlafly would ask, but they probably aren't looking for her input.

And again, these types of questions, though small, aren't going to sway a decision in any way. It is going to happen come hell or high water.

Let the homosexual soldiers guard the females. Unless, of course, female homosexual soldiers are the ones doing the assaults. In that case, use heterosexual male soldiers as guards.

All of this is the left’s way of destroying the military, they used to fight it head on to try and shut it down, then they discovered that females and homosexuals on the inside was the way to turn it into just another massive government hole for social spending, useless to America, and no longer a bastion of conservatism.

In time real men will quit showing up and the females and homosexuals will have it, already the goal is to make it at least 50% female.

I hope men don't mind visiting a f medic in combat should they need their private parts examined.

You would think there is some professionalism at the Ranger level, but maybe not.

I wished you have some respect for the warrior class who know what they are talking about.

You adhere to the most hard left view and passions when it comes to changing the American military.

You obviously did not read the links. The Military awarded her the Silver Star, not me.

She was at the time a 19 year old medic in a 82nd Airborne Unit. Those damn commie COs and Generals, who the hell do they think they are recommending and then awarding some puny blond bimbo a Silver Star?

There, am I more conservative for you now?

Well, whose fault is that? The potentially eligible soldier or the cowardly Generals who will not stand up to the Nancy Pelosies of the world?

You raise a good point that cannot be ignored. The Perfumed Princes had better make sure the elite standards remain the same. They had better make sure that only the very best are eligible for Ranger School regardless of their gender. Finally, they better make sure that only the best qualified are awarded Ranger Qualified status.

If I were a General, I'd lay my life down for those standards. Otherwise, I would resign.

You have ignored my posts to you throughout this thread, even in that post. You were insulting the American Rangers.

As far as your link, she was brave and won a medal, that doesn’t have anything to do with this thread, she can be replaced with a male version which is a medic who is the same as her, except improved in all physical attributes and without the female weaknesses.

She is incapable of serving with the Rangers or Special Forces or the SEALs, or an infantry unit, in any unit she serves in, she will always be less than she could be if she were in a man’s body.

If you knew your military history you would know that bravery has never been in short supply for field medics.

No you are a radical lefty, dreamy eyed feminist when it comes to destroying our military. Name anyone on the left that is farther left than you on this issue.

Your way will first kill soldiers, and then in time, will kill America.

I don't think you get it, you are embracing Nancy Pelosi and her agenda, with extraordinary passion.

The politics wins over reality because even a woman who votes republican and posts on FR supports Nancy Pelosi on this deconstruction of the military, and is trying to sell it like crazy to conservatives who know better and who are trying their best to educate her.

Hey, your link talked about male medics and I qoute, “» Create a simple kit that allows women to self-test for urinary or vaginal infections without having to approach a company medic, often a man, about symptoms.”

My link indicated there was at least one female medic in combat. Not only was this female medic good she was exemplary. Yet, you minimize her contribution. She was awarded the 3rd highest medal, not just "some" medal as you describe it. You should be ashamed of yourself, but you are too dim witted.

Now you mental midget, leave me alone you piss me off with your idiocy.

Why did you put “some” medal in quotes, I never said that.

Nancy Pelosi and you want things that only harm us, they do not benefit us.

You cannot burden real warriors with females to slow them down and dilute their effectiveness, and endanger their lives.

Warriors are specially trained and equipped to penetrate deeper, stay longer, move about more freely, and carry a bigger load, not exactly female stuff.

Fine.

Let her try and fail. When she fails, she will then not be serving with the Rangers, SEALs or any other Special Forces.

In my youth there were God Damned few males who could better me. They tried and they failed.

Like you they were not only ignorant they were arrogant. But me being a God Damned cunning female managed to beat them at their game not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well. They went home with their tales between their legs.

Now, there are many awesome males who are my better and I will gladly bow to them. Unfortunately, you are not one of them

Now take your testosterone laced idiocy and leave me alone you stupid stupid man.

The only problem I have is that I beat mediocre men on all levels.

At what? A fight, a race, a hike, what? Not trying to be a dick, but that matters. Also the logistic requirements change when there are females in a male environment. Requirements change, costs go up. Is the increased cost of the support structure justified for the purpose of 'giving someone a chance'? Enough for that one woman in a Ranger company? "Be all you can be" is a recruiting tool, recruiters lie. The reality of military service is "Be all we want you to be" or the Corps "We don't promise you shit, but we give you plenty anyway."

Our neighbor’s daughter joined the army after high school and is a medic. She spent her first tour in a base hospital in Iraq. She didn’t care for that as she was usually taking care of locals and not our guys.

For her second tour she requested to be on patrol in Afghanistan, where she was sent again for a second tour. She said along with treating her guys when they were wounded, she was also an important part of the community relations bit when they would get to a village and she could treat the women and girls, which gained the trust of many more of the villagers. Who were then more likely to point out where the bad guys were, mined roads, etc. the male medic took care of the men and boys, but not quite the same thing.

I imagine she would be the first to agree that she couldn’t do all that her guys could do on the physical level. But by being a female - she also served a very important role that none of the guys could.
