Obama Campaign: Illegal Aliens Are 'Americans in every way but on paper' (Wonderful News)

Wonderful news

Friend --

Thanks to our president, this nation's immigration policy just became more fair and more just.

Effective immediately, the Department of Homeland Security is taking steps to ensure that young, undocumented immigrants who were brought here as children by their parents, and who have followed the law since then, will be able to request temporary relief from deportation proceedings -- and will be allowed to apply for authorization to work in this country.

They're a group that we've come to call the "Dreamers" -- and today, the country they love is telling them they should be able to dream as big as they want.

For years, the President has called on Congress to make common-sense fixes to our broken immigration system. They haven't. So he did.

I am so proud to stand with President Obama on this decision. Watch what he had to say today -- then join me by getting his back.

The hundreds of thousands of people who this policy might help are people who call the United States of America home. They study in our schools, play in our parks, and pledge allegiance to our flag. Some of them have served in our Armed Forces. They've started businesses; they've started families. They are Americans in every way but on paper.

Congress still has time to pass the DREAM Act. And if they do, policies like today's will no longer be necessary.

We are not giving up on this issue.

Stand up and support the President today -- and help send the message that this first big step must be followed by a real, permanent solution from Congress:

Thank you,

Katherine

This is just the prelude of what's to come if he is not voted out of office.

[Sept 2011] Obama said,"I cannot do this on my own because it's unconstitutional"

I don’t drink and you can go stick up your backside!!!

I don't know what "drinking" has to do with impeachment but...whatever floats your boat I guess.

Kinda like the Wizard of Oz told the scarecrow: “There are universities with brilliant minds, and none of them is any smarter than you. The only thing they have and you don’t, is a diploma...”

But that was a blatant fantasy, wasn’t it? I think brocko’s diplomas are just wallpaper for his well-ventilated, buckwheat-straw brain.

Your idiotic prior statement, jerk!

Knew a guy that had a visa to visit for a week or so, and he hit a recruiter's office and enlisted. I helped teach him english. Maybe the laws have changed.

People on B-1/B-2 tourist visas are not allowed to join the US military. During the Vietnam War, we allowed certain foreign nationals to join, but they came here legally. The laws have really not changed. Currently, illegal aliens are not allowed to join the military. Just go to any of the service websites and look at the requirements to join.

We have to do security and background checks. How do these illegals acquire SSNs, and other identity documents? Certainly not legally.

If you REALLY want to enlist, you can get some paperwork.

That is so much BS. We are not a banana republic--yet. The idea that anyone can join by getting some "paperwork," is just nonsense. And it is illegal. When discovered, the perpetrators are prosecuted and kicked out of the service.

Ohhhhhhh, ok. Guess I got lucky with that comment. Didn't even think John Boehner was a Freeper. No wonder you're so uptight. I would be too, If I were you, John.

Wonderful news indeed! 0bambi has set a great precedent for all Americans - we are now free to disregard any law we wish. I choose to disregard the IRS laws. I invite everyone to find a law of their choosing that they don’t like and disregard it.

I have dozens of law books in my office. I have been collecting them for years. I often will browse through them, especially to gain more insight on a court ruling that holds some interest to me.

I have frequently been overheard giving my “legal” opinion on one matter or another.

My friends often ask me why I never went to law school.

I guess that I am a lawyer in every way, except on paper. There was all of that bother of going to college, the pain and expense of law school, and then there are those tedious bar exams.

Hell, that law license is only a piece of paper, after all.

Foreign nationals have always been able to be naturalized after completing their first term of service, in my limited understanding.

Yep - they have to commit and begin the process - then finish it .....

No, they are not Americans in every way. Most in my area are firmly pro-Mexico. They are also above laws like mandatory insurance, driver’s licenses and auto registrations. They have accidents and walk away abandoning the car and responsibility. They also open businesses and no one shuts them down for failing to get business licences, zoning permits, assorted inspections, etc. No one bothers them. They illegally vote in our elections, canceling out citizen votes, citizens who have every right to have a legitimate and vested interest in the way our nation is controlled. They steal our identities and nothing happens to them. They pay no SS, no income tax. They abuse our medical systems, our taxpayer funded education system. I’ve seen them in the ERs, not having to sign a single piece of paper while citizens sit and fill out multiple forms that guarantee payment. Americans pay the price for any illegality. They don’t.
