I think there is a lot of whistling past the graveyard going on among conservatives who think that Obamacare is really in the political crosshairs now, and indeed, could lead to the defeat of the presidents reelection effort. I worry that the opposite is true. Sure, opponents who care a lot about the constitutionality and policy propriety of the ACA are very upset and motivated to defeat the president. But they already were. For the relatively uninvolved, the message of the Roberts ruling, despite the justices protests to the contrary, is that Obamacare is A-okay. That will increase the laws popularity just as Roe v. Wade did with abortion. Alas.
I really don't think the uninvolved concern themselves with SCOTUS decisions one way or the other. Am I naive on this point?
disagree- the comparisons to Roe vs Wade is ridiculous....as a matter of fact most polling shows more than 50% of the nation is anti-abortion but politicians don’t go near Roe/Wade....obummercare effects everyone...Roe/Wade doesn’t except at arms length...
Nobody will like the fact they’ll never get another tax refund
I tend to agree. You ain’t gonna believe what the commie “media” polls are going to come up with now. 120% of “americans” think CommieCare is good. You can count on it. Everybody loves Barry.
That’s exactly what’s going to end up happening.
For now, it’s getting blasted in MSN’s homepage. The poll is 60-32 against the SCOTUS decision.
Besides.... even if it did remain unpopular, who would repeal it? The congressional republicans? HA!
We are somewhere between Mexico and Canada in more ways than just geographically.
Only people who will not be penalized by the tax system will be okay with it. Well at least until the death panels deem a parent or a child that is very ill to a painless death in the comfort of their run down local hospital.
Those that are punished for the sin of productivity will not like this bill and that will be a majority of Americans. I’m sorry did I say punished? I meant to say enslaved.
My money is on Zero and after he wins my wrath will be on those who cried "principle" to indulge their petulance and/or pride. |
The only silver lining is that we are so near economic collapse that we may not have to put up with it much longer. I am no longer worried about it, we will get the collapse we voted for.
except when it comes time to vote recently...
fact is obama has lost every important vote at the polling booth in which he got involved with or which was important to him...
‘09 NJ (Christie) Va (McDonnell)
‘10 Mass (Brown), Nov midterms...
‘11 Wisconsin (Walker)...
he’s lost every “national” election since the ignorant have wised up to him, never mind more times then not his “evolved” view on gay marriage always gets voted down in the voter booth...
Oh, wait. I didn’t realize I clicked on the “We’re a bunch of defeated pussies!” thread.
Sheesh.
Maximum Strength Growaset is needed in here.
I’m embarrassed.
That’s gonna be a whole lotta wrath.
I agree as well, now Obama is perceived as a “winner.” Meanwhile the rest of the public goes back to their bread and circuses knowing that the issue is dead and buried.
I’m thinking Kagan switched Roberts epilepsy medication with something which makes him prone to following her orders. /s (or maybe not)
The decision made $1M for RHINO Romney today.
Uh, were you on a European vacation the Summer of 2010? IMHO, the Tea Party will double its efforts. It will get real ugly for Obama this summer.
No you are not....the naive ones are those that think that there will be a massing of people with torches and pitchforks at the steps of Congress over this.
