TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida Gov. Rick Scott now says Florida will do nothing to comply with President Barack Obama's health care overhaul and will not expand its Medicaid program. The announcement is a marked changed after the governor recently said he would follow the law if it were upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.

"Florida is not going to implement Obamacare. We are not going to expand Medicaid and we're not going to implement exchanges," Scott's spokesman Lane Wright told The Associated Press on Saturday. Wright stressed that the governor would work to make sure the law is repealed.

Rick Scott and Scott Walker are leading the way. We need more governors like this, who will not cringe when the federal behemoth sends out a new dictate.

Put some ice on it, Zero, Holder, Sebelius, Incompetano, etc.

This could be the Achilles heal of 0-Care and it just might be Justice Roberts' poison pill to kill 0-Care

So why didn't he just strike it down in the first place? Instead, he stuck us with this:

"The Federal Government may enact a tax on an activity that it cannot authorize, forbid, or otherwise control."

I wish we could get a Republican governor here in Arkansas. This state still has too many folks that reflexively bubble in the “D” on election day. I guess we will see what happens, though.

Now all we need is the other 56 states to do this. /s

True on the sarcasm. Washington State, for one, is almost done implementing it (exchanges and stuff)!

Have to admit there are certain elements of health insurance reform at the state level that I'm not opposed to. But I don't want this Commie Crew in D.C. calling the shots!

The Otown Slantinel is peddling the usual Axelrod bold faced lies and spin.
FL , LA, and 24 other states won in court.
They do NOT have to implement the Medicaid laws or those ACA’s .

The states can continue to set up their own cheaper Medicaid plans.

So the entire Obama care Medicaid ACA plan to kill off private insurance has been KILLED OFF.

a total of 26 states won thru the Medicaid ruling on Thursday and none of them will be implementing Obama care.
No Medicaid ACA exchanges then no Obama care but Medicare monies will be cut across the country for hospitals and clinics.

Yes, we need some changes but not changes that lead to government ownership of every human.

Have you seen something about Texas refusing to implement Obamacare? I haven't heard a peep out of Rick Perry.

God willing! May it be so (and I think you’re right.) In setting this thing up they were counting on ALL states being forced to implement this. If half opt out and don’t, the other half won’t be able to carry the burden and the whole thing collapses. What these states opting out NEED to do is implement their own free market options (allow companies to sell in their states that previously did not or something to that effect if they can). Once it’s shown to work it will be a very strong contrast and study in socialism versus free market capitalism for all to see. Guess where people will be moving to get their healthcare?

“That makes it two, WI and FL. More to follow.
Lets see what happens now.”

Sounds like another period in American history.

What incident will become the new Fort Sumter?
