RIP: United States of America

September 17 1787-June 28 2012

The once great USA died last Thursday. The American Dream, work hard and get ahead without oppressive Government interference, is gone for now. What will rise from the ashes of the Obama and SCOTUS destruction?

I agree with your post.

Neither side, has manufacturing anymore.

Both sides have EXPORTED our manufacturing base. What ‘factories’ we have here anymore, are assemply plants for things made elsewhere.

We have been exporting our manufacturing base for so long, nobody even notices anymore.

Not even us. We so very much, need to stop do-dadding and rinky dinking around the problem:

We do no make things anymore.

Republican or Democrat.

We do no make things anymore.

Recently bought a compass made in US. A headlamp made in US. Good waterproof 8" duty boots. Quality pair of cold weather neoprene task gloves. I could go on but the point is that it is there. The hard thing is that as EBT mentality grips the country, price, not manufacturing location is the only thing the glassy eyed see.

Yeah, basically you’re right, 33.3 percent supported the Revolution, 33.3 percent were Tories and the rest were in the middle/indifferent. Actually, something like 3 to 5 percent did the actual legwork and fighting.

I won’t go so far as to say “No American flags” (as they did at the Million Moocher March years ago), but I would suggest using an earlier flag (such as the Revolutionary War flags you reference) to draw a distinction between real Americans and those who believe America is a socialist God-hating means to spread similar beliefs around the globe. The 50 star “Union” flag belongs to Obama and his ilk now; they “won”.

I always like the old 48 Star flag, sort of like out of WWII. I also like the Washington Cruisers flag with a pine tree with a saying under it, "An Appeal to Heaven."

America only dies if we let it. I am sure there were those who feared for America in those times too, and maybe it is that fear that drove them to take up the fight on behalf of our country and its future. I take up the fight because I refuse to let the miserable bastards win.

Agreed. Yeah, we are in for bad times, my friend. I'll leave it up to this:

We have four boxes of freedom:

Soap Box: Well, we did our hollerin and let our voices be heard but still, they ignore us. Still we need to keep that up but.....

Jury (Courts) Box: Well, we all know what just happened, we cannot count on this one as we all can plainly see, so.....

Ballot Box: Get back to me after November 6th, we need to hold Romney to his promises as well as keep the House and Senate, our last peaceful hope. otherwise.......

Cartridge Box: Tyrants understand only one language in the end, force. Still this is very messy and not a desireable option unless all others fail. 1859 anyone?

I’m sad to say that I’m just as sick and depressed as you are. This is the blackest Fourth of July in my memory.

I pretty much try not to associate with liberals either. The split is so huge, there is really no reconciliation. The downside is that many times, you get brother against brother, father against son and so on. B-(

A lot of seniors are fired up, myself included. Anybody born after 1980 doesn’t have a clue about how America used to be. As far as they are concerned, everything is OK because that’s all they know. Anything that happened in the 30’s to the 60’s is history to them, unlike those of us in our 70’s who lived through those decades.

Unfortunately, our generation is now too old to literally fight and it’s unlikely that another Greatest Generation is going to arise from the populace now.

I don’t know what the answer is. All I know is that my beloved country is on the brink of something terrible and I don’t know if there are enough true Americans to avert the coming devastation.

I'll be 46 in Sunday and even noticed the changes from what I remember in the 1970's to now and it is a greatly different world where I feel like I fell through a crack in the space/time continuum. Heck, when you think about it there is an entire generation of adults who never saw a Moon Landing.

With this ruling, even before I had a sick feeling to my stomach. AS the tagline below says where we jumped the shark, I knew I heard the twin Evenrudes idling up to speed and saw Fonzie putting on his water skis Some say America Jumped The Shark in 1865 where the South lost to 2008 when the Doomsday Machine from Kenya got elected. Still you cannot provide a true "shark jumping" moment, that is until now.

Maybe Roberts was thinking that if he ruled this way, he'd take one for the team and help Romney get elected. Obama won so he cannot really play the victim, his best card. Still the SC is supposed to judge what passes Constitutional Muster and what does not. It is the place to do the right thing, not be a political tool. I doubt this theory myself but I cannot rule it out all the way.

The lesson was that our investment in rebuilding them with the newest factory designs paid off, and that Japan and Germany both ended up with what they fought for anyway. Japan has lost some of its gains to Red China, but Germany has kept her place at the head of the European Union.

I’m fortunate that there are no libs in my immediate family; maybe a couple of cousins at most. We all grew up in the same general area, so we’ve mostly been shaped by the same events.

I just can’t keep a civil tongue when some lib talks with a straight face about how they want to spend my money on their pet projects (usually their salaries - most remaining libs are government dependent in some way or other).
