Conservatives fought Social Security, Medicare and the weekend when they were proposed. But once enacted, Republican and Democratic Presidents embraced all three as they became part of American life.

We can expect President Obama's court-tested health-care reforms — which shift payment for uninsured people's health care from hospitals to taxpayers — will also go on, even if Republican Mitt Romney is elected President.

That is "SURRENDER MONKEY--or McConnell/Boner--SPEAK!"

It will ONLY "Go on" if our mealy-mouthed, linguini-spine, Establishment-Elitist, wuss, RINO, elected Reps "ALLOW IT" to go on.

It is up to us to (try) and get some REAL Conservatives elected to Congress, while tossing out as many of the phony, pretend Republi-Tards out and hold their feet to the fire.

IF after Mittens has vowed (repeatedly) that he will move to repeal Obamacare and he reneges, he would KNOW that, that would doom any chance he might have at serving another term, so provided we can take back the Senate and keep the House (AND LIGHT A MAJOR FIRE under their butts with demonstrations, threats--figurative, not literal-- ect,) we just might have a chance at rolling his back.

Yes, yes! I just can’t wait for Obamacare! Just like other efficient and successful government agencies like the Dept of Education or the Dept of Energy. Healthcare will cost less, or be absolutley free. You will have infinitely more access to doctors and hospitals, as well as more say-so about your own treatment. And best of all, it will reduce our national debt!

The difference between Medicare and Social Security on one hand, and ObamaCare on the other, is that the first two were passed and implemented at times when the Democrats had preponderant majorities and wide public support, and could stay in place long enough to become part of the political background landscape.

ObamaCare, on the other hand, was widely opposed by the public but was nevertheless foisted off onto us when the Democrats only had a precarious majority (which they then lost, in the House).

The author widely misreads the circumstances.

Nevertheless, he’s probably right about Romney not doing anything about ObamaCare. After yesterday’s story about the Romney campaign starting to walk back its efforts against socialised medicine, I’d imagine we ARE going to get stuck with it, regardless of who gets elected in November.

We cannot stand another four years of Obama/Romney IGNANCE.

It's not too late for Romney to step down, out of the race, give it up, and let somebody with ideas, with personality, with intelligence step up and run the race for election.

The guy has been tested and he doesn't have what is needed.

That is the crucial phrase that Americans should ponder this July Fourth. Just how much freedom have we lost by being lazy and willing to consent to the encroaching power of the central government on our lives?

Many good men died to preserve freedom, but in our generation we are giving it away. What a disgraceful legacy we will leave to the generations after us, who will be enslaved to the debts we have run up on their future.

As I explained in an email to this guy, the hospitals in every case gets their funding from either Insurance companies funded by premiums paid by TAX PAYERS and from the fed government who as most liberals seem not to know, has no money of it's own but only what it gets from TAX PAYERS. This is another example of how totally clueless is the Left in all matters fiscal.

Probably right. It’s like choosing between the Riddler and the Joker. The costumes and makeup change, but Gotham is overrun with hoodlums. Business will still be shaken down and gambling will still go on in the backrooms and citizens will still cower.

First things first. In the long run we must make the Republican party uncomfortable for people unwilling to accept Conservative principles.

That may include some people who imagine they are Conservative but who otherwise follow Mitt and the Mittbots.

McCain lost when the economy tanked very suddenly in mid September. At that time countless billions in equity were removed from the markets and credit, the life blood of an economies growth dried up.

To this day it is unclear just who or what was responsible for this event.
