DUBAI - Iran has threatened to destroy US military bases across the Middle East and target Israel within minutes of being attacked, Iranian media reported on Wednesday, as Revolutionary Guards extended test-firing of ballistic missiles into a third day.

Israel has hinted it may attack Iran if diplomacy fails to secure a halt to its disputed nuclear energy program. The United States also has mooted military action as a last-resort option but has frequently nudged the Israelis to give time for intensified economic sanctions to work against Iran.

The way I'm seein it, we owe the Persians a lil payback all the way back from the 70’s.

I for one will pop a top when the first American bomb detonates.

They keep threatening. Some day they’re gonna have to ‘put up, or shut up’, and I believe Iran will rue that day.

With all the budget problems, you have to wonder how many Tomahawks the subs actually have on board. We were running low back during the Iraq war.

You apparently don't realize Hussein is working for Iran TO GET THE BOMB and is working for the Muzzies to destroy Israel.

Egypt to Muslim Brotherhood. Muzzies are a terrorist organization sworn to destroy Israel.

Hussein used US Military illegally to hand Libya to Muzzie radicals

Hussein wants Syria handed over to Muzzie nuts.

Then it's Iran, Egypt, Iraq, Libya etc. against Israel.

Hussein is doing great in his job to weaken/destroy America and set up the Muzzies for their Armageddon. And you and most of America don't have a clue what he's doing.

And you though Hussein got us out of Iraq to help the US! He removed US Troops to hand it over to the Muzzies. Remember the last time you heard anything out of Iraq?

Absolutely empty threat. Iran's long range missiles use liquid fuel (not solid fuel) propulsion. Due to the nature of the chemicals (corrosive properties, breakdown, etc.) you simply cannot keep them fuelled for long periods of time. Liquid fuelled missiles are primarily an offensive weapon, not a defensive/retaliatory strike option. Minutes after an attack? Try hours or days before you could launch in any significant numbers.

The fortresses they build underground to hide in will become their tombs.

Iran, given a reason, the US can destroy your entire damn country in the time it takes to fix instant oatmeal in the microwave.

If we’re on the ball, we can deter it, but we have to be on the ball and not have our hands tied by a CinC that loves Muslims more than Americans. We all knew when dester Storm was kicking off because of the sudden loss of communications throughout much of Iraq and our ability to do that can be very useful.

GW I was special. Diego Garcia was supposed to have enough 250lb iron bombs to attack about the southern third of the Soviet Union, yet we used so many of them that they were the biggest theater shortage item. Just about every aircraft and ship crossing the Pacific was used to pick up more of them.

This was when it was decided that unguided munitions were insufficient to our needs, and development of SDBs began in earnest. SDB II is supposed to have better guidance to get around GPS jammers.

btw, I’ve heard some wit who said that we should in future refer to GW I as “GHW”, and GW II as “GW”, for clarity.
