Morris: Civilian gun ban to be signed July 27

Dick Morris now on Fox. Morris says the UN Gun Ban Treaty is scheduled to be signed by Obama's U.S. ambassador to the UN on July 27. According to Morris, treaty will be rammed through by the lame duck Senate after the November election if the Democrats are still in charge. A treaty, of course, supercedes the U.S. Constitution. Interesting months ahead.

Dr. Sivana: This line puts treaties on par with The Constitution itself. And newer laws supercede older laws.

Then the 2nd Amendment -- amending the unaltered Constitution "to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added:" -- then so applies to the line about treaties and therefore limits all treaties that are valid to those not infringing on the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

This has always been the problem with the Constitution and treaties. The Founders assumed we would have three branches of govt. that knew and upheld the Constitution. Now we have three branches of govt. who really don’t care what the Constitution says. So now these godless NWO socialists can advise and consent to unconstitutional treaties to their hearts content.

It would not surprise me one bit if the RINOs and dems getting kicked out after this election would get together and come up with a two thirds vote for this garbage. That is what happens when you have a gun grabbing NWO socialist RINO leading the republican party and a gun running marxist democrat in office of president.

NWO=New World Order

RINO=Mitt Romney

Not true. There is something that translates to "the situation has changed" which is precedent for getting out of treaties... though I'd hesatate to use that, as it is essentially breaking one's word.

There is another tactic though: try those voting for it for treason -- it could be posthumously or in absentia -- if convicted (and that would be rather easy, just prove it subverts the militia and therefore aids enemies of the States, as per the 2nd amendment -- all votes recorded are witness to the act) and then, as the action was treasonous could not be valid, and being invalid must be regarded as null and void.

(1) It will never pass (2/3 of Senate required); (2) even if it does pass, it's unconstitutional; (3) it's especially unconstitutional if we can't back out; (4) do you even have a cite to what this treaty is? Or are you just taking Morris's worthless word for it?

And the Declaration of Independence takes PRECEDENCE over the Constitution. The Bill of Rights is the offspring of the Enlightnement thinking which produced the Declaration and Declaration is NOT its servant. Its the other way around.

And I quote "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; that to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any form of government become destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it,..." (My bold, underscore and italics).

I think that is pretty CLEAR and the HEART of the document.

Yup. If I wanted to be petulant I'd say that the contrcatin for "it is" still only takes one apostrophe. I know that yours was a typo, and mine was bad spelling.

How could that possibly be true, even if the Constitution said so (it does not)? Anyone attempting to make a claim that a treaty could superceed the document that authorizes it has an agenda.

Treaties trump federal (and some state) laws. The Constitution trumps treaties.
