From the day he ran back in 2008, I was always surprised by people celebrating a potential first black president. Is he not half white and if so, why does he not show pride in that part of his heritage?

When I used to wear a watch, I wore it on my right hand, my writing hand. That way, when I was writing, I could see the time while I wrote. That was way back in school though, I don’t do too much writing these days!

It reminds me of a joke some black comedienne made early on in his presidency (I think at one of the press dinners that presidents go to every year and give a ‘funny’ speech) saying something like if he turned out to be a failure, blacks would then stop referring to him a black president.
The irony is that while it’s politically correct to refer to American blacks as African-Americans, Obama, even though not considered by the likes of Morgan Freeman to be genuinely ‘black’ anymore, is actually more legitimately an African-American than most blacks here since his father was born in Africa.
