I wondered how many posts it would be before the people who are literally killing Free Republic would come on to make nasty comments and ruin the good feeling from this wonderful story.

Freepers do have a very low tolerance for bullshit.

Men that governor out of political expediency lack character. It's the ultimate in deception to pretend Romney is something he isn't even if you plan on holding your nose and voting for him.

ALL: Look at the contrasts on this thread...'tween those who post facts and figures...vs. posters like Altura who simply posts generic shotgun ad-hominens vs. phantom posters...

Altura uses descriptions like "crazies"...
thread corruption ("hate and lies") -- minus any proof, of course...
"obsessed with Romney hate"
"compulsive"

ALL: And then he's got the nerve, the gall, after engaging in these kind of generic ad-hominen attacks to add: "If the more compulsive posters could be cautioned by management to cool it a little, not to lie, not to insult people, not to engage in nasty personal attacks, things would improve greatly."

No...Altura...calling strangers who you have psycho-analyzed from afar as "crazies," "obsessive," "compulsive" and several "hater" references couldn't possibly be "insulting" or part of "nasty personal attacks" now could they???

ALL: Altura has engaged in what we see is self-refuting dialogue. We don't know whether we should believe what he says or what he practices -- because the two contradict!

He has shot his FREEPER credibility (IF he EVER had any!)

You're cruisin' for a bruisin' if your man Mitt gets into office and betrays conservatives given all the ample evidence that he has in the past governed solely out of political expediency.

You're not getting away with anything but admitting you were wrong if and when that happens.

The story has been enlarged a lot with the telling

Of course. He has a hideous liberal record he can't run and flip-flopped dozens of times of the issues, so this making an issue out of this and Obama's incompetency are the only things he can run on.

""Christianity...is a perfect pack of nonsense...the devil could not invent a better engine to spread his work than the Christianity of the nineteenth century."
- FLDS/LDS "Prophet" John Taylor, Journal of Discourses, v. 6, p. 167

I'm so glad the mormon militia was around to save the world from 19th Century Christians like the ones below....Just imagine how things would be today if mormon founders hadn't sent forth armed killers to "avenge the blood of the prophets" against the devil's minions like the Ingalls. /sarc

At the SECOND time he was asked about the missing girl story in LESS THAN A WEEK Willie Mitty said

“Uh, yes, I haven’t thought about that for a while, so let me see if I can get the facts straight,” Mr. Romney said, before launching into his retelling.

I’m not voting for a pastor.

But, you are voting for a man with a record to the left of Bill Clinton who has flip flopped as many times as Clinton to get elected.

Rush was right 20 years ago -- character matters. Romney has no character.

I have never claimed that a Pres. Romney would govern in any way other than that which is politically expedient.

It is the Mitt haters who predict that Romney will pursue an ideological agenda if elected President.

Don't get your garmies in a twist, Skippy.

So you see anti-Christian comments from mormon sources as "religion"? Figures.

Hate speech is hate speech, and most of the comments are from mormon "prophets".

You mormons are good at dishing it out, but you can't take it. A lot of people who leave the "anti-mormon" threads do so because they can't rebut information on doctrine and practices posted for the most part from mormon sources...as I have just done.

BTW, I went to LDS.org, entered "anti-mormon" and found that there are 213 articles regarding what the mormon church designates as "anti-mormon".

The mormon leadship has since the beginning fostered the "we are persecuted" mantra all the way to now when the LDS Corporation is worth multi-billions of dollars. Some "persecution"!

Believe it or not, I hadn’t heard this story before. Unfortunately, I read the comments..well, not the usual cut and pastes which I thought were going to be relegated to the religion forum. I wish there was an ignore button on FR.

I wish all the religous/ class warfare drama around here weren’t so thick one could cut it with a knife.

I will vote for Romney in November, not so much because of any admiration for him, but because I truly believe Obama is determined to destroy our Nation, and in fact is well on his way to doing just that at this very moment, and every moment the past 3.5 years.

What factors are you using in determining whether a person’s vision is “clouded” or not?

What parameters are you using to define “hatred”?

You go right ahead and make your “list”.

I’m guessing your “list” is going to include any who give even the slightest impression that they disagree with any pro-Romney FReepers or Romney himself.

If we can’t openly discuss and challenge Romney here on FR for “fear” of some self-appointed “list” maker, then FR becomes nothing but an echo chamber.

Then again, I believe that’s point, isn’t it?

At the risk of fomenting and all-out war, I’d like to ask these posters whom they would like to see nominated by the GOP and, further, to assess the chances of that happening?

20K ?
Apparently you did not read what I wrote, I said Romney participated, he wasn’t the savior he is being portrayed.
If think that is stupid, so be it.
Romney helped look for a friend’s child who ran away, good for him. He participated, good for him.
What is stupid is that apparently you actually believe he did more than that.

ABR (Anybody But Romney...even...hold my nose...Ron Paul)

...assess the chances of that happening?

I'll address related topics to this (like voting Third Party) if you would also ask conservative voters in the following states if they, too would "asses the chances" of Romney winning the following electoral states:

Hawaii
Washington
Oregon
California
Illinois
Minnesota
NY
NJ
Connecticut
RI
Delaware
Maine
Vermont
Maryland

What mormon hatred?
Exposure of mormonISM on a religion forum yep, that is not hate.
