They were experimenting with some transformers near me a couple years back.
For whatever reason, those things drew lightning to them in every storm we had.

Yeah. It was bad again, and some trees fell (somewhere in my power grid). Mercifully, electricity was restored by 11:00PM.

This time it was out for 6 hours I should buy a generator. I love living near the military park where it is a forest of trees, during t-storms, when our grid is almost always the casualty. I live in the historical area, where our street is lined with 100+ year old trees and all of our yards have the same age trees. Once in a while a neighbor loses a a branch and there goes the power. We all have the tree trimmer every other year to look for dead branches.

Well, it was 85 and only 72 overnight. The t-storms cooled the temperature, but I was ripping MAD about no computer and TV...LOL.

I read most of the night with a flashlight, so I’d be fine except that we’d have no water. We’re on a well. We’ve talked about getting a generator, but we really don’t lose power that often these days.
