Obama: My Biggest Mistake Was Not 'Telling a Story' (Updated)
weeklystandard.com ^ | 7/12/12 | MICHAEL WARREN

Posted on 07/12/2012 4:47:20 PM PDT by ColdOne

"When I think about what we've done well and what we haven't done well," the president said, "the mistake of my first term - couple of years - was thinking that this job was just about getting the policy right. And that's important. But the nature of this office is also to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism, especially during tough times."

Mr. Obama acknowledged the dissonance between others' perception of his strength as an expert orator, and his own.

"It's funny - when I ran, everybody said, well he can give a good speech but can he actually manage the job?" he said. "And in my first two years, I think the notion was, 'Well, he's been juggling and managing a lot of stuff, but where's the story that tells us where he's going?' And I think that was a legitimate criticism."

I found this statement slightly hilarious because “telling a story” was the term my dad always used for lying. Such as, “You can believe anything he says, he's always telling a story.”

Even this story he’s telling here is a collection of lies — like all his stories. Thanks ColdOne.

Oohhhh. He is SO misunderstood. His brain is so gigantic and charged, that common people just CAN’T figure out what he is trying to do, so ignorance fills the vacuum.

You know what irritates me? Regardless of if this POS wins or not in November, there are going to be schools named after him, streets will have their name changed, government buildings will bear his name.

For the rest of my life, regardless of what happens to that jackass, I am going to have to be subjected to seeing his Marxist moniker on things.

"But the nature of this office is also to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism, especially during tough times."

Obama's time in our White House tells one unified story. From the beer summit when 'the Cambridge police acted stupidly' to 'if I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon' and every moment in between with Holder obstructing justice by "looking after our people", and the rest of his administration's dreadful performance, I've heard one story loud and clear - racial politics as the center of Obama's identity. Other than that, the only theme that oozes through is anti-American communism, where Obama apologizes for America, bows to our enemies, leaks sensitive classified information to score political points at the expense of American lives, and otherwise does his best to destroy capitalism, productivity, and initiative.

How about this one, oh FASCIST, Neo-Commie, Dear Leader?

Down the Rabbit-Hole

Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, ‘and what is the use of a book,’ thought Alice ‘without pictures or conversation?’

So she was considering in her own mind (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid), whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a White Rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her.

There was nothing so very remarkable in that; nor did Alice think it so very much out of the way to hear the Rabbit say to itself, ‘Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be late!’ (when she thought it over afterwards, it occurred to her that she ought to have wondered at this, but at the time it all seemed quite natural); but when the Rabbit actually took a watch out of its waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it, and then hurried on, Alice started to her feet, for it flashed across her mind that she had never before seen a rabbit with either a waistcoat-pocket, or a watch to take out of it, and burning with curiosity, she ran across the field after it, and fortunately was just in time to see it pop down a large rabbit-hole under the hedge.

In another moment down went Alice after it, never once considering how in the world she was to get out again.

That pretty much how most of think: "HOW in the hell (or F*ck) will we ever get out again" or recover from the damage you have wrought on our Republic, you bottom-feeding, POS?

LIE. I doubt if hardly anyone said that. Obama had no record and yet he still won. If most people even considered qualifications he would NOT have come close to wining.

"And in my first two years, I think the notion was, 'Well, he's been juggling and managing a lot of stuff, but where's the story that tells us where he's going?' And I think that was a legitimate criticism."

LIE. with 4 years of high unemployment and bad economy most people are not interested in his BS. Even the leftists are not as much interested in hearing more "stories". They just want more socialism and Obama has left them no doubt he will deliver more socialism if elected.

Everything Obama says is a lie. Every word.

Obama: My Biggest Mistake Was Not ‘Telling a Story’

Marge, you’re my wife and I love you very much. But you’re living in a world of make-believe. With flowers and bells and leprechauns, and magic frogs with funny little hats.
