Why not release more of your tax returns, as Democrats -- and even some Republicans -- are demanding, Mitt Romney was asked Monday in a live appearance on "Fox & Friends."
"The Obama people keep on wanting more and more and more -- more things to pick through, more things for their opposition research to try to make a mountain out of --and to distort -- and to be dishonest about," Romney replied.
"We're going to put out two years of tax returns. We've put out one already. As soon as the most recent year is complete, we'll put that out. It's hundreds of pages of documents," Romney said, noting that the law does not require candidates to release their tax returns...

Well, this shows some improvement:
"And let's just stop for a moment. If we want to talk about transparency, the real issue is, why has this president used his presidential power and executive privilege to keep the information about the Fast and Furious program from being explained to the American people? This is not some personal matter - this is the action of his administration," Romney said.
Romney said the American people should be demanding the kind of transparency the Obama administration promised to give them.

One response could be that at least he has a successful business career to be talked about. All the president’s resume includes is the past three and a half years and that record is horrific.

INCOMING!
What’s he hiding?
Why is he being so secretive?
He must have something to hide.
Why would anyone need all those offshore bank accounts?
He must be hiding something!

He Won’t Give Obama Team ‘More Things to Pick Through’ and ‘Distort’
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
HELL YEAH!!! That’s exactly what I was thinking this morning. If he gave them his phone number, they would find something about it to lie about and try to discredit him. I wouldn’t give them one thing that is not required by Law. The witch on Morning Joe on MSNBC this morning was asking why won’t they release his tax returns. They can’t stand it; it’s driving them crazy.
I hope and pray that the Romney Team, with all the money they have, can dig up some real dirt on Obama and people on his Campaign Team and spring it on them this Fall. I mean something really nasty and dirty. I betcha they’re digging. I just hope they find something.

Romney should demand to see the last 12 years of 0bama’s returns, AND his college and high school transcripts.

Romney needs to make this personal. He is too dry -- this is not the time to take the high road.
He should be specifically asking for the Obama records which have not yet been provided. Quid pro quo -- if you want one from Romney, then provide this from Obama. Over and over again.
Romney should hammer the media that he has provided this, and this, and this, and this and this -- and they want MORE?? Well, where is Obama's stuff? Isn't it relevant? Isn't it important? Isn't it interesting?

Exactly.
Their intention is to keep him on the defensive. As long as he is, they are setting to tone, the agenda. Romney is trying to take the high road. [Ask McCain how far that philosophy got him.]

My response in a similar weekend thread:
In 2008, McCain cowered in fear that Team Obama would hurl some negative label, such as racism, that would stick to him.
Romney is allowing himself to be distracted by shiny objects -- things Team Obama throw out at Romney to distract, detract, and deter away from real issues.
When Romney responds with 'they are being mean, they are being unfair' he/his team sound whiney and childish.
Man up! Of course they are being mean and unfair! Deal with it. Either run and hide, like McCain did; or stand up to them, call them out, and respond in a manner that makes the media and Dems cringe and regret that they brought up the issue.
This isn't Patty Cake. This is politics. It is dirty. Attack Obama like you attacked your opposition in the primaries. Anything less and you will limp off the stage after your concession speech, like McCain did in 2008.

I think if there is anything bad in those tax returns they are requesting, Obama will take it upon himself to release them sometime in late October.

He is absolutely correct and people like Bill Kristol need to shut up. Any Tax Return would be disected and distorted with the usual Obama lies. He’s better off taking the criticism for not releasing them. While he is at it, why doesn’t Romney and his team ask why Obama wont release his collecge records from Occidental, Columbia and Harvard?
To: scooby321
It’s about time for Donald Trump to start making his rounds on all the network news programs.

Dems play this game all the time.
Stamp their feet and demand stuff. If they get it they ask for more.

Wow, how dumb is this guy. Just take all your Tax Returns put them in a sealed box and give them to an attorney. Instruct him to release them when Obama provides full copies of his College Transcripts and an actual physical copy of his birth certificate.
Then the ball is in Obama's court.
