No, I don’t. IMO, the Repubs were warned by Conservatives but ran a weak John McCain and guilt-ridden whites wanted to vote for a black...any black...and 95% of AA’s, well, we know how they voted.

I’m not even bringing in the bias of the media.

You'll get no argument from me.

John Derbyshire: Eight Wasted Years
...Margaret Thatcher used to talk about the “ratchet effect.” When the Left gets power, she said, they drive everything Left; when the Right gets power, they slow the Leftward drive, perhaps even halt it for a spell; but nothing ever gets moved to the Right. U.S. politics in the 21st century so far bears out this dismal analysis. What does the Right have to show for eight years of a Republican presidency? I supported George W. Bush in 2000 because I thought he had a conservative bone in his body somewhere. I supported him in 2004 because I thought him the lesser of two evils. At this point, I wouldn’t let the fool park his car in my driveway. Bruce Bartlett was right, every damn word...
Bill Gertz interview on Hannity and Colmes
Gertz: Well he casts himself as a compassionate conservative and I argue that he's neither. That his administration is neither. He's done tremendous damage to the conservative movement...

Sure, George Bush had faults, but I would rather have him in the White House than the dictator wannabe we have now. He was 2000 times the leader. Obama doesn’t lead; he pontificates (and folds and attends fundraisers).

The problem is that Bush inspired Obama. Until Obama, Bush helped give us the biggest, most powerful, most intrusive federal government ever. Obama took that as a challenge to make it even bigger and more powerful.

Every time some little old lady gets fondled by some TSA agent, I'm sure Bush feels a bit of pride in what he helped to create.

Get lost! What’s wrong - he didn’t initiate same sex marriage and socialistic heathcare with cheap abortions for you and you are still whining?

Gotta agree. My Vote for McCain was wasted.

Bush also rebuilt the Military after Clinton decimated it, gave us tax cuts (our money back), kept us safe after 9-11, went after Al kada (misspelled on purpose), stood with our allies, I go could on as well.

Actually he didn't do much for the military. The End Troop Strengths numbers stayed the same as Slick Willies 1996 numbers. But our troops under him were deployed into two nations. Many troops seeing more deployment time in war zones than in WW2.

If you look at who W chose for Sec of Defense you would see the same Sec of Defense who initally lead us into the Hollow Carter years. I'm talking of course about Rummy who was also Sec of Def under Ford. I didn't like him then under Ford & didn't care for him as Sec of Def under Bush either. Wasn't Gates a real winner? LOL Bad choices for key positions cost Bush any military legacy.

Don't get me wrong Carter richly deserves blame for what he allowed to happen in his one term but things weren't that great when Carter took office either. Carter inheritied the walk away military lacking of morale and discipline.

The reality of George W Bush is this. If Gore had not been tied so directly to Clinton scandals Bush would have lost 2000 by a wide a margin as Dole in 1996. Why? Because like his Dad he ran as a Moderate. DEMs can do Moderate at election time and the GOP never learns.

Bush also didn’t cause the economic collapse, liberal lending policies were the root cause, and by the way he DID try to reign in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

True but you also have to remember that many of the ones Bush helped get elected to congress {Liberal friends and not Conservatives} also helped the DEMs in key votes. Bush 45 years ago would have been a Lyndon Johnson Democrat. That is how far left the GOP has gone since Reagan left the White House.

Yeah it was the media that soured the American people on Dubya.

And it was the media that sweetened...a man who America who nothing about and IGNORED the TRUTH of his past..into their messiah and people bowed. How is that for the power to persuade?

They do whatever it takes for FOOLS to believe them.

The harm he inflicted on our country will take a long time to heal from.

Thank you for that amazing insight, Mr. Carney

How many volunteer hours have you logged, so far, for your candidate? The name of that candidate is.........? Surely, with views as strong as yours, you have decided to volunteer your time to elect your candidate for President of the United States of America.

W never gave a damn about the Republican party once he got elected. Else why would be have stuck with Chaney, a man, even if you were a great supporter of him, who could never be President because of his poor health. He left the party with no “incumbent” candidate. Now he won't even go to the convention to support a non Bush candidate

There should have been a VP ready to take over.

Yes indeed, the harm of GWB manifested itself again last month in the personage of John G. Roberts. This skipping of the convention may mean that Jebbie will not be the VP pick. Let’s hope so. Our Republican primary voters are ostriches.
