George W. Bush skipping Republican National Convention
Politico ^ | July 20th, 2012 | Johnathan Martin

Former President George W. Bush will not attend the Republican convention next month in Tampa, POLITICO has learned.

“President Bush was grateful for the invitation to the Republican National Convention,” Bush spokesman Freddy Ford wrote in an e-mail. “He supports Governor Romney and wants him to succeed. President Bush is confident that Mitt Romney will be a great President. But he’s still enjoying his time off the political stage and respectfully declined the invitation to go to Tampa.”

Asked if the former president had been invited to only attend or whether he was also asked to speak, Ford said the conversation didn’t get that far and the former president declined “before details were discussed.”

Can't blame him, why bother?

If he were to attend, it would be reason for some of us to attend too.

“CFR? That tin foil hat is too tight.”

Huh? Dubya certainly signed it and thus restricted our 1st Amendment rights. By all means take a look:

The harm he inflicted on our country will take a long time to heal from.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to hear you elaborate.

Two words. Open borders. Two more. Crimigrant invasion. Two more. Messycan horde.

We'll never recover from the harm Jorge Busho has done.

“That would still leave him way short of President GW Bush”

Come back to earth. Bush set the stage for Obama.

If you think post #18 can be refuted, give it your best shot.

So what’s the worst you’ve got on Romney? Romneycare? LOL. Bush’s prescription drug fiasco alone was much worse. Under Romneycare people at least have to pay for what they get.

Considering your personal attacks and profanity one would think you were the tween. Hence the attempt to communicate down to a level you could understand.

There must be at least one person on this thread who has the man parts to admit that Romney will be just as bad on that score.

Unfortunately most "conservatives" are pure coward.

“Sure, George Bush had faults, but I would rather have him in the White House than the dictator wannabe we have now. He was 2000 times the leader. Obama doesn’t lead; he pontificates (and folds and attends fundraisers).”

I would rather have him that the nominee we are getting, too.

I think the confusion about CFR is one of you means Campaign Finance Reform, and the other thinks Council on Foreign Relations.

I’d like to have another Reagan, but we won’t. There doesn’t seem to be any close. And even if there was, the party keeps pushing RINOs on us. A real conservative doesn’t have a chance.

Absolutely. No way I'm voting for that charlatan. I made myself a promise after Bush and later, McLame, I'm not wasting time on anymore liberal Republicans.

My point is not about whether or not I agree with or idolize President GW Bush or what kind of job I think he did or an endorsement of his presidency but what I think of obama and what he’s done and of democrats in general and my rather low expectations for Romney and I am going to work for Romney and I have sent him money. All three of them are less than what I want and expect of a President, I hope Romney will prove me wrong about him.

Bush also rebuilt the Military after Clinton decimated it, gave us tax cuts (our money back), kept us safe after 9-11, went after Al kada (misspelled on purpose), stood with our allies, I go could on as well.

Bush also didn’t cause the economic collapse, liberal lending policies were the root cause, and by the way he DID try to reign in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Yep, however it is a sad to thing to say there are many people who call themselves conservative or even moderates who have fallen for the liberal spin about GW Bush.
(no he was not perfect)

IT was global muslim voice that put together a propaganda and hate program demonizing Bush for his wanting to go into the ME. That is why we have a Muslim POS in the White House today.

GWB focused on our security and safety and not buying it from the muslims through technologoy/ secrets /cash transfer that the current traitor has.

You been suckered by the lib talking points and a buyer of the “muslim voice’s” propaganda.
