Mexico Urges U.S. to Review Gun Laws After Colorado Shooting (GRRR!)
Reuters ^ | 07-21-2012 | John Hill

Oh no they didn't---MEXICO is trying to lecture US about VIOLENCE? Seriously? Calif. Assemblyman Tim Donnelly summed it up well: "Nothing ceases to amaze me. This is outrageous that the failed nation of Mexico would dare lecture the United States -- Mexico, where gun ownership by citizens is illegal, but gun violence is at epidemic proportions with the Drug Cartels slaugthering 60K people in the past 4 years. For the number of guns in this country, we are a remarkably peaceful people...." Yet more hypocrisy from Calderon - who also called our border fence racist, and then built one of his own to keep Guatemalan illegals out of Mexico. (LINK)

--

(Reuters) - Mexican President Felipe Calderon condemned U.S. gun laws as "mistaken" and urged Washington to review them after a shooter killed 12 people and injured more than 50 others at a U.S. movie theater on Friday.

In comments posted on his Twitter account on Saturday, Calderon offered his condolences to the United States after a gunman went on the rampage with an assault rifle at a midnight premier of the new Batman film in Aurora, Colorado.

But Mexico's president, who has repeatedly called on Washington to tighten gun controls to stop weapons flowing from the United States into the hands of Mexican drug cartels, said U.S. weapons policy needed a rethink after the killings.

"Because of the Aurora, Colorado tragedy, the American Congress must review its mistaken legislation on guns. It's doing damage to us all," Calderon said.

Mexico has strict gun laws and great lot of good it does her. Their murder rate is higher than Iraq’s.

As far as I know, its illegal to wire your apartment for explosives. A guy who is prepared to kill large numbers of people doesn’t care that its illegal to do so.

Mexico is one of the most corrupt countries on the planet.

And the Mexican people are some of the most disrespectful people on the planet, as millions of them routinely disrespect and violate our rules, laws and borders.

And then their cheap two bit corrupt politicians tell the U.S. how to operate?

Ya can’t make this chet up.

Seems to me that Mexico might want to review their gun laws. Consider:

Juarez: 1,321,004 people, ~1700 murders (2008)
El Paso: 800,647 people, 17 murders (2008)

It’s worth noting that these cities are right next to each other, with only a (partial) fence separating them. It’s also worth noting that even the 17 murders was a relatively high number for El Paso - in 2010, they had 5 murders.

Dear President Calderon,

We’re quite happy with our current laws, as it allows legal American Citizens an opportunity to quickly stop violent acts committed by your Illegals. The next time we need the opinion of a third world cesspool, we’ll ask you.

It’s easy to see why. The officials in Mexico know that Mexican gangs would rather be closer to their customers in America (and away from Mexico causing trouble) but would have to not feel threatened by armed natives (us).

12 people died in Aurora, CO. That is unfortunate.

The UK has some of the most incredibly strict gun laws on the planet.

Yet that didn't stop Derrick Bird, a British cab driver from killing 12 people there.

Someone needs to remind the Mexicans their territory doesn`t yet extend into Colorado. Yes, we realize the Southwest is heavily populated with illegal Mexican nationals, but they don`t yet own it, so they need to STFU.
