Newt defends Bachmann on Huma Abedin allegations
Politico ^ | 7/24/12 | MAGGIE HABERMAN

Newt Gingrich, appearing with Jim VandeHei and Mike Allen on POLITICO Live's Driving the Day this morning, defended Rep. Michele Bachmann for asking questions about the Muslim Brotherhood - and declined to hit his former presidential rival for raising questions about Hillary Rodham Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

"There weren’t allegations, there was a question," Gingrich told VandeHei and Allen, adding, "the question ought to be asked across the board" about the Muslim Brotherhood's relationship with and goals in the U.S. are.

When it was pointed out to him that other Republicans, such as Sen. John McCain and House Speaker John Boehner, have hit Bachmann for a form of a witch hunt, he said, "I think those folks are wrong...what is it they're afraid of learning?"

"I think those folks are wrong...what is it they're afraid of learning?"

That their secret multi-million dollar offshore Saudi retirement accounts are being administered by the same people who promote world terrorism on a grand scale? Or that those accounts might magically disappear if they don't display enough vigor in hiding that Saudi-terror connection from the American public?

easy to see those in elected office crtical of Mechelle Bachman for just doing her job are anti-American, even Speaker Bonehead. They are the reason this country is in dire straits. Every damned one of them need to be tossed out of office ASAP.

"Don’t live in MN. Is Michele OK for campaign money? "

She's a formidable fundraiser, but she'll be tested this time more than ever. Her opponent is entrepeneur Jim Graves, founder of AmericInns and Graves Hotel Management, who has a personal net worth of over $100 Mil. But then, since we've been told he didn't build that himself, maybe he won't be so tough after all. (/sarc.)

Beck said on his show this morning that if Bachmann didn’t apologize today that Boehner was going to kick her off the intelligence committee. I can’t find that story anywhere online. Anyone have a story on that?

Frank Gaffney has said for a long time that the Muslim Brotherhood has its tentacles just as deeply in the GOP is it does in the democrat party.

The current GOP behavior isn’t encouraging.

Off subject: You mentioned Soros.

Have you seen the new Progressive Ins. Ad with FLO? She is sitting behind a microphone which is being transmitted to EVERYWHERE, offices, streets, etc. everywhere.

She speaks and Everyone stops what they are doing, and look up at the TV set broadcasting her message, (shades of what is to come, shades of 1984?). When she is finished telling the people whatever, she then basically says back to work.

This ad is very creepy. Now back to the subject at hand.

We are certainly seeing who the statesmen are and who the traitors are. Nice to see Newt and Bachmann standing up for us.

Message to McCain....

Stop acting like a traitor and support Michelle Bachman and the others who are asking legitimate questions about the Muslim Brotherhood and certain persons working in government. We are NOT stupid.

Thank you Michelle and the other Congressmen that look out for our interests. It was a question, and it was supposed to stay within committee. Way to gp, mcCain. but now that is in the open....just what are the risks? And how the HELLL did Valerie Jarrett get a clearance?

I used to take a reasonable stance when it came to our government, both sides. Could they have done better, sure. Are there bad apples that can be elected out? Sure. Do they overall act in the best interests of the governed...mostly.

But after the last 4-5 years, watching the last election cycle, this administration and lastly, the demasking of the Republican elite, I am so disgusted and fed up.

We need fresh blood, fresh air and leadership. Precious few in D.C. now are capable..McCain should have gone a long time ago and I’m sorry I ever voted for him (even though it was for Sarah). Go Bachman, Rush, Newt, West and others who do care where we are headed. eff the PC crap or those tootsies that may be stepped on. I have HAD it.

I’m so proud of Michelle! She’s a real patriot and I loved her run for the presidency. Hope she tries again.
