Well, in some sense that is already going to happen. Their convention on August 11 will determine who has their precious presidential ballot line in California.

I voted third party back when very young and inexperienced and learned a very harsh lesson.

I've learned the lesson that there is only one party in power. The Establishment Party. All other parties are the "other" party. So are you going to vote for the establishment candidate or a conservative candidate?

I’ve said this before to you, Tom, but this thread is as good a place as any to repeat it: I thought I was pro-life until I talked with you. Best wishes in your debates.

Are y’all going to be on the ballot in California?

Thanks again. The process you describe is what makes all of this worth it, no matter what.

I was a precinct inspector for the primary, and I remember Ed Noonan’s name on the American Independent ballot. None of the other parties mentioned for these series of debates had primary ballots, so I was wondering.

I had a Pubbie ballot, and left that contest blank, for obvious reasons. :-)

As much as I like a good debate, you guys would be equally productive at a back yard BBQ. Right now we can ill afford third party noise.

Now if you want to attend your local Caucasus in that third world country of California and try to get your stuff into the party planks, more power to you.

I can think of lots of things to do but allowing my vote to make possible four more years of Executive orders from America's first Communist psychopath President most assuredly ain't one of them.

I'm a State Conservative as well but I'm a Hetero...Perhaps that explains the difference between our political leaning...

It might explain the intention to vote for a man that legalized homo marriage, supports homo adoption, supports special rights for homos and, er......Not that there’s anything RIGHT with that ;)

Very obvious reasons.

That particular “primary” is completely meaningless. It isn’t how the American Independent Party chooses their nominee. I stayed away from it quite purposefully.

Who gets the ballot line will be determined on August 11.

Sorry, the formerly grand old party doesn’t own me or my vote.

By the way, why would any conservative care what is in the GOP platform? Their “leadership” hasn’t paid it any mind for decades.

Wow,two guys who won't garner a single Electoral vote between them. That's *sure* to be "must see TV".

Congratulations Tom!

Don't let the RomneyBot JackAsses get you down, I don't expect any better behavior from them given the lying, left-wing Progressive Liberal they support.

(And that goes for the clowns you'll be debating as well)

Thank you.

They don’t deter me at all.

Quite the contrary. They are a daily reminder why we must fight.

Pfffffft

I don't know any poster who is a romneybot - but I know most are anti-0bamabots.

The time for these guys to get in it has long since passed. It's the primary they need to get into and/or change. Our nominee is decided.

This foolishness is going to help 0bama.

If someone things they can make a difference, great. Get the primary situation changed to take away some of the GOPe power. Or is that too hard? Just running for the sake of running is easier?

Narcissistic Myopia.

I’ve told this story on FR a couple times but it’s relavant here on this topic as well. In the mid/late 90s-2001 I was Senior ed at Off-Road.com, an off-road motorsport site that had landuse issues as a big part of our agenda.

The largest problem we faced was not Earth First, the ALF or Sierra Club. It was the Apathy and ‘go along/get along’ attitude of our readership (which was second only to NASCAR.com in the motorsports realm of the day). I cannot tell you how much hate mail I got from fellow off-roaders upset that I/we were hardcore anti-econut. In the many landuse issues/closure issues of the time, many wanted ‘compromise’ with the greenies and wanted us to ‘moderate’ our stance because we were ‘hurting’ the sport.

Today, every one of the places we were fighting over back then have been compromised into closure or hyper restriction.

THAT is what compromise on the issues gets people. Incrementalism proves that the path to success is by demanding a lot, taking a little and coming back for as many tomorrows as needed until the job gets done.

Compromise of 50% leaves 50%. Compromise of that leaves you 25 and so on. That is exactly how the GOP advances liberalism. And they do it because the Mittbots and appeasers in the ‘base’ clamor for it.

I am glad you will not join them.
