Sikh temple shooting suspect identified as Wade Michael Page; Motivation unclear
CBS News ^ | August 6, 2012

Posted on 08/06/2012 6:03:54 AM PDT by Zakeet

The suspect in a shooting that left six people dead at a Sikh temple in suburban Milwaukee on Sunday has been identified as Wade Michael Page, who served in the U.S. Army for about six years.

According to sources in the U.S. Army, Page enlisted in April 1992 and given a less-than-honorable discharge in October 1998. He served at Fort Bliss, Texas, in the psychological operations unit in 1994, and was last stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, attached to the psychological operations unit. The details of his discharge were not immediately clear.

Wade was killed outside the temple in a shootout with police officers after the rampage that left terrified congregants hiding in closets and others texting friends outside for help.

Officials had previously described the suspect as a heavy-set, 40-year-old Caucasian with numerous tattoos.

Sources tell CBS News some unspecified evidence suggests race or ethnicity may have played a role in the violence, but no links to extremist groups have been confirmed.

Local police called the attack an act of domestic terrorism, but other sources tell CBS News correspondent Bob Orr it may be more accurate to refer to "an investigation into a possible hate crime."

Neither the local nor the federal sources provided further details or suggested a possible motive, including whether the suspect specifically targeted the Sikh temple.

CIA having trouble with Sikhs in Middle East

There ARE no Sikhs in Middle East, for practical purposes.

2/3 live in India, with the largest communities outside India in UK, USA and Canada.

Sad, but most likely explanation is the idiot doesn't know how to tell one variety of raghead from another. Thought he was attacking those responsible for Islamist terrorism. To the extent he was thinking at all.

And The 'Batman' shooter was a 'brain-iak' in neuroscience.

HELL-O-OH! How many movies and stories are there out-there about Government Programmed Shooters ala 'The Manchurian Candidate'.

Life imitates art or vice versa??

I saw that later. Sorry to go off on you, but after Brian Ross pointed the blame at the innocent guy, I’ve been sort of touchy about false accusations. Heck, it could be one of us under the MSM microscope.

Wrong. The man was discharged in 1998 most likely admin under- chapter 13 for a fast out. An unfit SOB who takes up his 1SGT’s and CPT’s time is finally gone, but; it is up to division or Corps CG’s as to a court martial or the faster admin discharge. I threw some 10 plus out on that damn chapter 13 in 73 and it was all because the CG was in a hurry to give the druggies a chance. Well, they are costing us today as a chapter 13 general discharge can be upgraded. Most go on to get VA bennies after upgrading the discharge.

I heard he grew a beard and nobody knows what to do about it.

While what you say seems to be precisely the case, doesn't it seem totally ridiculous ?

It's not that we don't know how a beard grows or why. And it's not that we don't know how to remove it. I'd say if you are in prison, razors are hard to come by.

The judge telling him he can't have a beard is just the oddest thing I have ever heard.

Am I missing out on some upside down world reason the court has ?

He is still receiving active duty pay. :scream: That is my guess as to why he can’t have a beard.

There is nothing about Army PSYOPS that requires a high GT score . Army General testing score is close to IQ.In fact a 138 GT score in 65-66 makes one qualified for MENSA. Not that many have 138’s-142’s and over.

In short you cannot equate army PSYOPS EM or officers with a degree in Neuro Science.

If you look at him, it makes way more sense to believe he’s a white supremist than a muslim extremist.
