WASHINGTON — When the jubilant couple were wed in June, they exchanged personalized vows and titanium rings, cheered the heartfelt toasts and danced themselves breathless. Then, as the evening was winding down, unexpected questions started popping up.
One after another, their guests began asking: Are you going to have kids? When are you going to have kids?
Tom Lotito and Matt Hay, both 26, could not help but feel moved. They never imagined as teenagers that they would ever get married, much less that friends and family members would pester them about having children.
“It’s another way that I feel like what we have is valid in the eyes of other people,” said Mr. Hay, who married Mr. Lotito in June before 133 guests.
As lawmakers and courts expand the legal definition of the American family, same-sex couples are beginning to feel the same what-about-children pressure that heterosexual twosomes have long felt.
For some couples, it is another welcome sign of their increasing inclusion in the American mainstream. But for others, who hear the persistent questions at the office, dinner parties and family get-togethers, the matter can be far more complicated.
Many gay men had resigned themselves to the idea that they would never be accepted by society as loving parents and assumed they would never have children. They grieved that loss and moved on, even as other gay men and lesbians fully embraced childless lives. So the questions can unearth bittersweet feelings and cause deep divisions within a couple over whether to have children at all, now that parenting among same-sex couples is becoming more common.
The process can be also daunting logistically and financially, as would-be parents wrestle with whether to adopt or use a surrogate.

When it becomes normal or accepted, you will see a lot of them change their mind. Many are doing it just to be different and stand out in the crowd. Being “normal” will take all that fun out of it for them.
The whole concept of 2 members of the same gender “thinking” that they can raise children is, well, obscene! Equally obscene is the LGBT crowd and those who support this public monstrosity, who push for equal rights based solely perverted sexual tendencies. Several decades ago, I took special note when I happened to hear a woman lament the restrictions imposed on herself by "an accident of biology". Straight away I thought, "An accident of biology !?!?! An accident of biology !?!?!" Of course I said nothing. You get the picture.
But this is it. This explains everything.
They shouldn’t be asked, “When are you going to have kids?”.. they should be asked, “When are you going to make sure some poor, innocent child(ren) is motherless for life??”

I understand what you are saying BUT a whole lot of diseases are living and thriving because these freaks of nature continue sticking things where they weren’t meant to be or at least don’t belong.

Normally I’m not as bitter as I’m going to be right here.
I’ve always wanted a large family with lots of children. God has blessed me with a son, whom I love, and a wife whom I adore.
Along the way, though, two more children that I would have also loved and cared for were killed in the womb by women making a choice. It’s a choice in which I had absolutely no participation. It was simply done and I was told.
I’m also told that my grieving for those lost children is some make-believe political stance.
So two gay guys want kids, and I’m supposed to feel sympathetic. Not here.

My sister (or is that brother) has never been happy, and only spreads misery. She has spent her LGBT life wallowing in hatred and irrational rants against society, republicans, Christians, etc.
On the other hand is a baby raised by two males with one common set of family instincts.
There just may be a reason that hetero couples have two sets of instincts when it comes to baby-raising.

Can you elaborate? Are you pro or con concerning homo adoptions? Both presidential candidates are pro.
friend of mine now living in San Francisco, told me 13 years ago bet we would live to see the day that homosexual marriage would be seen as normal, polyandry would be legal, bestiality would be legal with large animals and traditionalists would be persecuted like the Klan. I disagreed. I suspect I will have to give him a bottle of vodka. Egalitarianism and cultural marxism are killing us.
