My favorite choice by far.. Ryan is a fiscal hawk, and THE MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE CONGRESSMAN IN WASHINGTON..

ROMNEY-RYAN

Is it crazy to think that if they can convert that RR image into thoughts of Ronald Reagan that it could be a successful strategy? A lot of Reagan Democrats have felt the pain of the current Administration and could they be influenced?

I heard him called a Tea Party candidate. That's good enough of a resume for me. I think Gov. Palin would be pleased.

Morning Jim,
Waking up to some great news this morning, I hope.
Looking forward to your assessment once you've had time to soak it up.

I sure would like this announcement to pull all the Freepers back together again.

Ryan is a great choice! He will run rings around Biden....and Obama for that matter.

Glad he picked Ryan. I did not think he had the courage to pick someone like Ryan. I am glad he did not pick Rubio.

Query:

What time did Romney’s team send out their “official app announcement”?

I don’t have cell phone/texting, so I did not sign up for it. I am curious as to what time they finally sent it, given that the rumors were pretty solid by 9PM yesterday.

Giving the willard his due, not a bad choice if it is Ryan. If the roles were reversed it would be a ticket I would be happily embracing. But with willard at the top and calling the shots, I remember the words of John Nance Garner on the Vice Presidency. I’ll still be voting for Virgil Goode.

Interesting that VA being chosen as the venue for the announcement. A tacit acknowledgement that willard has a real Virginia Problem.

Ryan’s a Natual Born Citizen, so that’s a good start right there. Now factor in his fiscal acumen, and I’m almost ready to believe that Team Mittens actually wants to win, and that they might even have the interests of the Republic in their Top Five list of priorities.

Turns out that Wisconsin is Ground Zero for 2012...the voters there reaffirmed their demand for fiscal reform by voting for Scott Walker in the recall election. This has given Romney the confidence that America is ready for same...take it to the dems to having “fiddled” while Rome is burning.

Ryan has been my choice since forever. Unlike Jindal and Rubio, he’s eligible. And he’s a good choice overall.

Ryan is the anti Biden. Unlike Biden he thinks with his mind rather than his mouth.Ryan is incredibly bright and very fiscally conservative, The only issue is the Romney Ryan ticket has to be ready to counter the “Ryan wants to take away your medicare” garbage barrage from the Dems

I am all in. I was so happy to see Romney choose Ryan, because it proves what I believed - Mitt Romney wants to win, and will do what he needs to do to win.

The liberal yappers are all talking about the supposed disadvantage that Ryan will have with senior voters, because they can't admit the truth - this election is a referendum on Obama, meaning whichever side turns out their bases wins. Ryan was by far the most conservative of the potential running mates, and no one will do more to draw conservatives to the ticket.

This was a bold choice!

I just hope Romney has the courage to turn Ryan loose, and the campaign does not try to throttle him back to Romney-wuss-mode, like McCain tried to do with Palin.
