Rasmussen Reports ^ | 8/23/2012 | Rasmussen

As the controversy over Republican Senate candidate Todd Akin’s “legitimate rape” comment continues, Mitt Romney’s lead in Missouri has vanished.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Missouri Voters finds President Obama with 47% support to Romney’s 46%. Three percent (3%) favor some other candidate in the race, and three percent (3%) more are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

assume all of you naysayers would rather McCaskill run unopposed?

That's obviously better than Akin staying in.

Surely thou jest????

What a freaking nightmare. This nut is a contagion. At this point,I believe Akin is so toxic he could not even win his deep red House district.

And a special thanks to Huckabee for encouraging this nut's delusional bid for the Senate. This whole episode has seriously caused me to reconsider if some elements within the social conservative movement are worth it.

Then who should replace him on the ballot????

There are many phenomenal alternatives: Brunner, Steelman, Bond, Wagner, Emerson, among others.

In their absence, I say we nominate Porky Pig or Mickey Mouse. Either would poll better than Akin and have a better chance of winning without the collateral damage, as well.

I agree, he’s a drag on the entire party, not just this State..

HOWEVER.. Let me see if I have THE FACTS RIGHT!

This Tea Party guy will say anything to save every baby, even stupid stuff..

On the other side, we have a woman who will lie about everything to kill as many as she can?

Yep.. KILL HIM... Geeeeze

The only people attacking Akin are Republicans — we eat our own.

Do you really need to be a rocket scientist to figure out WHY Republicans want him out and Dems gleefully want Akin to stay? Are you serious?!?

Thanks a lot Akin. Happy now? How dos the re-election of Obama and McCaskill further the conservative cause?

That said, hard to believe MO voters are this stupid. Since Akin said something totally stupid about one issue, they now support Barack Obama and Obamacare? This country is doomed if voters are this stupid.

If missouri changes it’s vote in the presidential because of one representative’s statement they are a pack of fickle, unprincipled morons.

There is also the course of forceful expulsion from the party.

Stop the panic. This is not that bad. It will be reversed. Considering the enormous media firestorm, Romney/Ryan has held up very well in Missouri.

The only people attacking Akin are Republicans

Do you walk to work or carry your lunch

or

Do you walk to lunch or carry your work?

I suppose you are of the opinion that those Romney, Ryan, Akin logos that Blabbermouth and the rest of the Democrat party are using to make fun of Akin and the lack of the ability of the Republican Party to get him to honorably step down were copied from the RNC site?

Did you have any interface with Forrest Gump's mother?

Inquiring minds want to know!

If you first want to have a message to be conveyed with believability, the messenger must first be able to convey that message with credibility. Otherwise the message is aborted. Go think about that one for the next 20 years.

Yes, life is unfair. Yes, there is a double standard. Yes, sometimes a punishment depends upon WHEN the mistake occurred.

No, the double standard will not get corrected by November 6.

We play the hand we are dealt. Akin must go.

Anybody. You could put Daffy Duck up there and it would be better.

Akin is a cancer that is fast spreading.

He is not pure, not principled, not sane, and is a piece of S#$% for what he is doing.

Him and his cult of psychotics, ABR’s, Hucksters, and “holier than thous” are going to ruin this entire election.

Romney already tried to talk sense into Akin, and the clown just flipped the finger at him. Thanks a lot for making the party’s presidential candidate look weak and useless....

LOL. Blaming a close race on Akin is nonsense. Maybe many Reps don't like the Romney/Ryan condemnation of Akin. McCain barely won MO last time in 2008. It is going to be a tough race.

Do you really think that if Akin gets out, the Romney/Ryan numbers will go up?
