Mitt Romney's children were mocked by actor Nathan Lane in remarks he made to Vice President Joe Biden as he introduced Biden at a campaign fundraiser today in Bridgehampton, New York.
The East Hampton Press reported:
Nathan Lane opened the event with comedic jabs at Republicans, namely Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, and also a few directed at Mr. Biden...
He mentioned that actress Edie Falco, a co-host, couldnt be at the fundraiser with him because she was filming Nurse Jackie, a Showtime series. I love Nurse Jackie, he said. She cant get through the day without Vicodin, Adderall, Percocet, Xanax and Oxycodonewhich, oddly enough, also happens to be the names of Mitt Romneys five children, he said.
The audience laughed...
The Obama campaign has conducted the most personal and dirty campaign in recent memory. This is just one more step in the gutter of personal attacks on the Romney family by the Obama campaign and its surrogates.
Four years ago Obama said the children of the candidates should be off limits. That was when he was pretending to walk the high road.
Oh wait, he died in a car accident, we're talking about The Sopranos chick. Nevermind.
Democrat Party Campaign Strategy: Always aim BELOW the belt. It’s where we live. It’s where we do best.
Just wanted to say hi, so “hi”. ;>)
Didn't have to. That's why they get these low-class comedians who can get a good review regardless to the quality of their material, and if they are lucky, they also get paid.
You mean like the OWS protesters ?
Nathan Lane thought he was hired to do a ROAST of JOE BIDEN. This was mainly due to daily abuse of Vicodin, Adderall, Percocet, Xanax and Oxycodone.
So he decided to slam his non-appearing co-host, and in his contract he was required to slam Romney's children through whatever comedic twist worked best.
He is good at going to the gutter. It will be days before he realizes it wasn't a 'fundraiser' for him but for Biden and Obama. But then, no one cares. He will be quickly forgotten.
No, it didn’t. It was just stupid. An expression of pure meanness. Apparently it’s amusing to some people to suggest that people are drug addicts. Why, I don’t know.
How completely juvenile of them.
Oh, boy!! Thanks for explaining that.
[with *deepest* apologies to all my snake friends] ;D
Usually I can grasp the subtlety of any possibly entendre’ but that one utterly lost me.
I’m sure Nathan was *fabulously* pleased with himself, though.

“Thing” and “Disease” will change their names as soon as legally possible. Their parents’ being anti-child will have its consequences.
Not funny to normal people. You'd have to be practically addicted to those drugs and in a drug induced state to even think you see the humor.
I don't remember that. Got any links?
“The stupid joke doesnt make sense at any level.”
Right, that’s what I was thinking. It’s like a warmed over joke, really meant to be used at another time, for another purpose.
Maybe it’s a left-over anti-Palin joke, her kids have some unusual names. But again, I think your point about no history of drug use would also make it not too funny there either.
Pathetic, really.
Were you bullied as a child? Are you still being bullied? After a session with your shrink, does your shrink have to set up an appointment with her shrink?
You forgot to tell us how funny Willard's five boys names are.
