ISLAMABAD — The Muslim cleric at the forefront of a campaign to prosecute a Christian girl for blasphemy has suddenly found himself at risk of facing the same charges, after one of his colleagues went to the authorities and accused him of falsifying evidence of burned holy papers.

The surprise arrest might change the direction of a case that has brought the world’s attention to Pakistan’s controversial blasphemy laws, which critics say are regularly used to exploit and intimidate minorities. This case has been in a spotlight the Paks would sooner avoid. This latest development could be a government public relations stunt. I hope not.

If this guy really did this I think he might be in a world of trouble.

Or, maybe not.

Let’s face it, though, if a Muslim did this it’s about a million times worse than if a non-Muslim did it.

And why would he seek to frame some mentally incompetent girl? Cui bono? (who benefits?) as they say.

It may be he was trying to cast blame on all Christians and chose the most vulnerable target. You're probably right though that he's in a world of sh*t for attracting negative international attention.

Just like the "Big 'Mo" Mohammed cartoons that were used to incite riots, Bearing False Witness by another piece of garbage claiming to be a Muzzie religious leader.
