How Clinton plans to upstage Obama at the DNC

Not since the feud between Ted Kennedy and Jimmy Carter tore the Democratic Party apart more than 30 years ago have two panjandrums of the party loathed each other quite as much as Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

And yet this week, television viewers will be treated to a remarkable spectacle at the Democratic National Convention: Clinton will stand before a cheering throng of delegates on Thursday night and deliver a primetime speech nominating Obama, a man he once dismissed as incompetent, as president of the United States.

The Clinton-Obama feud is the worst-kept secret in the Democratic Party. It traces back to the bruising 2008 primary campaign, when Obama’s surrogates lambasted Bill and Hillary for being “racists” and a Clinton aide said of Obama that he “embraces the politics of trash.” The animosity still stirs such deep emotions that a year ago Clinton held a secret meeting of friends and political advisers at his home in Chappaqua and urged his wife to challenge Obama for the party’s presidential nomination in 2012.

According to two people who attended the meeting, Hillary rejected her husband’s advice that she run against a sitting president of her own party. But that didn’t stop Bill Clinton from going on a rant about Obama.

“I’ve heard more from Bush, asking for my advice, than I’ve heard from Obama,” my sources quoted Clinton as saying. “I have no relationship with the president — none whatsoever. Obama doesn’t know how to be president. He doesn’t know how the world works. He’s incompetent. He’s an amateur!”

They pick a man who’s raped 8 women we know of to lead their ‘WAR ON WOMEN’ that’s a good start.

WHAT’S THE EVIDENCE IN THE FORD BUILDING CLINTON?

Probable outcome for Hillary: retirement in the face of an impossible run against a hugely successful Republican president.

We can certainly hope so. At the moment, I have concluded that either Romney wins in a landslide, or he loses in the "closest election in history". I suspect it will take landslide-style margins to hold on to a win in the face of Democrat legal-challenges and voter fraud.

If Obama loses, he would be eligible to run again in 2016. Of course if he loses his behavior between the election and January 20 may be so outrageous that even his base will be turned off.

If Romney wins by only a few electoral votes, I expect that the Democrats will try to bribe or blackmail a few of the Republican electors into changing their vote.

A little off the subject. Does anyone remember when, President Clinton took over obama’s press conference.

According to Drudge, the old Silver Fox is playing it pretty close to the vest on his speech.

Bill Clinton hasn't let convention planners see speech...

Slick is a master at undermining. He and hitlery’s plan is on 2016 either as saviour from the nobama depression or from Romney’s economic recovery.

I swear, Free Republic sounds like a whack job conspiracy website whenever Hillary's name is mentioned. Some people around here act like she's some omnipotent, immortal terror, who will be an ever-present threat for the rest of our lives.

Give it a break already. She's a washed up old dishrag who's never had an original thought in her head. She's way past her sell-by date, and her glory days are long behind her. She was never anything but a weight on Bill Clinton's coat tails anyway, and owes every minute of face time in the limelight to him.

Have you even looked at her recently? I'm sorry, but all the pancake makeup and airbrushing in the world can't pretty up that mug. Not only is she tired and old, she's ugly from the inside, out.

In another four years, she's going to look like an octogenarian refugee from a nursing home. No, her very last shot was 2008. She knows it, even if some Freepers don't.

Nobama will be just like Jimmah, a one time shot. It will be next to impossible to regenerate the perfect storm that brought him.

Well damn Windy, when did the dems start caring about looks, instead of idealogy. They have not.

In 08 hitlery made the comment, it was 08 or never for her. That was to push her in the Primaries. Since then the klintoons have said 2016 is OK.

As to Freepers being paranoid, never... NEVER underestimate the klintoons, at least Slick is a master of politics and the fatcat money grifter supporters know they rain $.

You're kidding, right?

The Democrat party is the very home of superficiality, glitz, glam, form over substance, 'feelings' vs reason, 'optics', charade, false fronts, hyperbole, hypocrisy, spin, fads, insincerity, hedonism, voyeurism, homo-ism, communism, anarchism, and last but not least, the cult of body worship.

Today's rank and file left is about as deep as a sidewalk puddle. Why do you think they voted overwhelmingly for the empty suit, Obama? It's because he fit their ideal(ism) of a Hollywood rock star, and because he spoke the right bumper sticker slogans. The Obama facade pushed every button on their empty-headed Pavlovian programming.

Do you honestly think they'll suddenly become deep thinkers, and fall in line behind Hillary because of her 'accomplishments' and 'qualifications'?

Heh...not a chance. Trust me. They'll be looking for another new kid on the block in 2016. Heck, Obama could even run again (shudder....).

No one remotely said “think they'll suddenly become deep thinkers” aside from you, my FRiend.

“He will upstage the big “O” just by being there. Watch and see.”

And if I remember anything about Clinton’s speeches, they tend to go on and on. I bet he goes way long and makes Obama wait on him. Pretty passive aggressive....
