CBS Local ^

The White House says that the August jobs report shows that the nation is continuing to recover, despite more Americans giving up their job search.

Freddie Krueger?

More people go on disability than have dropped off of unemployment since “recovery summer” of 2010.

4 years of soundbites are available, and if the Romney campaign puts together a regular montage of ‘recovery’, ‘turning the corner’, ‘can’t look at just one month’, etc, this election is won. It shows complete incompetence.

Yeah, exactly. This is precisely what R&R ought to be saying — “I agree with the White House, we shouldn’t read too much into a single monthly jobs report . . . but I read a lot into 36 straight monthly jobs reports and that is, this President’s policies are a failure and we need to change, and quickly.”

This campaign is becoming as great a catastrophe as the last four years of Obama governance has been.

How about we look back at prior months and the continual negative adjustments to the jobs reports? For instance, the adjustment of July's numbers from +162k jobs down to +141K, a minor 13% adjustment.

Unemployment is dropping because people are giving up (as the article said before it apparently disappeared), and they describe this as “continuing to recover”. They have more talent than I thought if they were able to say that with a straight face.

He has a point considering how unexpected this report was.

“important to not read too much into” just one monthly jobs report.

I'm pretty sure they say exactly that every month.

Last month, the WH said that the uptick in the percentage in unemployment was not relevent - the number of jobs created was ...

Now that the number of jobs created went down, but the unemployment percentage also went down - the WH could not legitimately tout the drop in the percentage of unemployment without looking foolish ...

I think what he meant to say was “Don’t read too much into one FOUR YEAR jobs report.”

By communist standards, we are blowing the doors off the economy. We have increased citizen dependency on the government every year during Obama’s reign at ever-increasing speed.
