"All of us are inspired by what is happening in Libya," Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said one year ago as she hailed the revolution taking place in that country, praising the Libyan people for "taking back their country." Today -- on the day after the 9-11 attacks in Egypt and Libya in which the U.S. ambassador to Libya was killed -- a weary-looking Clinton said she’s asking herself how it could happen:
“How can this happen in a country we help liberate, in a city (Benghazi) we helped save from destruction?”
Clinton said that question “reflects just how complicated, and at times, how confounding the world can be.”
Speaking at the State Department, Clinton said, “This was an attack by a small and savage group. Not the people or government of Libya.”
She also praised the late U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, to whom she delivered the oath of office earlier this year:
“Everywhere that Chris and his team went in Libya -- in a country scarred by war and tyranny, they were hailed as friends and partners.
“And when the attack came yesterday, Libyans stood and fought to defend our post. Some were wounded. Libyans carried Chris’ body to the hospital and they helped rescue and lead other Americans to safety.”
In a written statement on Wednesday, Clinton noted that U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens "was one of the first Americans on the ground in Benghazi."
She said he "risked his life" to help the Libyan people build a better future.
"The friendship between our countries, borne out of shared struggle, will not be another casualty of this attack," Clinton said at the State Department Wednesday. "A free and stable Libya is still in America’s interest and security, and we will not turn our back on that, nor will we rest until those responsible for these attacks are found and brought to justice. We are working closely with the Libyan authorities to move swiftly and surely."
In an Oct. 23, 2011 statement marking the "liberation" of Libya, Clinton called the U.S.-assisted revolution "the work of ordinary, brave Libyans who demanded their freedoms and dignity. The United States is proud to have supported them in those efforts, and we are committed to their future."
Hillary was laughing when Ghadafi was killed. It was just played on the radio. These leaders stink. They need to be thrown out of office. This media reporting stinks. Turn the garbage off!

(Or a rather Machiavellian one from a domestic enemy of our country.)
Not complicated at all for anyone that isn't stupid. They hate us and our way of life. Anything they say or do to suggest the contrary is a deceitful attempt to mislead and manipulate.
The last person in the world who should be surprised and confounded by embassy attacks is Hillary Clinton. She was the co-president in 1998 when American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed.
More than 200 people were killed in those attacks, which were attributed to Islamofascist terrorist groups like the Muslim Brotherhood which Hillary so enthusiastically supports.
Co-president Hillary’s failure to strike back at the terrorists in 1998 set the stage for 9/11. And once again she’s part of an administration that will not fight back, which will eventually cause 9/11 Part Two, unless she and Obama are replaced by Republicans, who have been proven to take Islamic attacks on America seriously and retaliate.
These are sick people. As Clint Eastwood said “they work for us.” They think we work for them! Hillary and Obama are running a backward campaign!
But that's all water under the bridge. We now need to put Syria's moderate Islamist "activists" in power. Maybe they'll be more moderate than their Libyan brethren. Third time's the charm...
“We?” Seems like it was NATO, until it turned out to be a screaming successs and Obama took credit. Time to kick it back to NATO?

Naive may be better; she’s “all in” on the Obama idea that if we downplay American exceptionalism and Christianity and so forth that the world that hated George Bush will do a one-eighty and love us.
It just never occurred to her that she (and Barky) might be completely wrong about that strategy, and it’s hard for her to wrap her head around that possibility.
