The recently reinvigorated cast of Saturday Night Live has been having a field day with the 2012 election and their ratings have shown a payoff for their efforts. Yes, the majority of their skits still tend toward skewering conservatives and Republicans, but to give credit where credit is due, they do take some shots at Obama when the target is too obvious to ignore. Such was the case with last weeks debate....
...it was a fairly glaring attack not just on Obamas poor performance, but the totally vacuous nature of the MSNBC prime time lineup. The roughly four minute video follows and, for once, you may want to actually watch. The show stealer is, beyond a doubt, the Sharpton character.

Embedded video at link. The guy who portrays Matthews as a psycho is very funny.

If SNL had any real courage, it would get a male actor to play Rachel Maddow.
That would be hilarious.

That was quite good, best one I have seen since they had the Chinese Premier complain about US Debt levels, where he kept saying, through the interpreter “When are you going to stop having SEX with me!”.

If SNL had any real courage, it would get a male actor to play Rachel Maddow. Fred Savage would be a great choice.

Still nobody with the nads to rip BO a new one? I can’t believe we now live in a country where we have to be scared to parody a public figure.

Why are they calling it last week’s debate? Wasn’t it this week?
To: oblomov
Tracy Morgan as Al Sharpton was hilarious. That was Tracy? Looked like that Keenan guy to me, but then I don't watch that show very often.

. . . but the totally vacuous nature of the MSNBC prime time lineup.
Vacuous. Is that anything like an empty chair?

That was pretty good.
This from a guy who thinks that SNL stopped being funny when Eddie Murphy was in the cast line up.

Wow! That is really good. Sharpton and Matthews — LOL.
To: oblomov
I don’t think it was Tracy Morgan. He’s not that funny.
