Washington Post Exclusive: PPP caught doing advocacy polling on race
The Washington Post ^ | October 11, 2012 | Jennifer Rubin

PPP, a Democratic polling outfit, has long been viewed by suspicion by not only conservatives but by independent, credible pollsters. Now there is all the more reason to discount its “polling” as shoddy partisanship.

I spoke by phone today with Wisconsin voter Dave Summers, who lives in the Madison area. He told me, “I got a survey. I don’t normally answer these calls, but I did [this time]. I started out pretty normal — President, Senate.” However, he said it then got weirder. The automatic survey asked if he had a favorable or unfavorable impression of Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson. He said he was greatly disturbed when the automated call then asked, “Do you believe conservative media want white people to think Barack Obama hates them?” He said, “That bugged me.”

I called Tom Jensen of PPP. He said that it was his poll. I asked whether this wasn’t a classic advocacy poll designed to get a specific answer. He demurred, “Well, we were asking a series of questions about conservative media.” He said that this call followed the posting on Drudge of the 2007 video in which then-Sen. Barack Obama talks about Hurricane Katrina and denying aid to residents. He claimed that since conservative media were trying to make an issue of this, it was important to see whether that effort (to poison the thinking of white voters, I suppose) was “successful.”

Wasn’t a question that put the conclusion in the question a leading question? “No, it wasn’t a leading question,” Jensen insisted. He then sent over the questions, which for reasons he did not explain were not released publicly.

There are no questions about liberal media or bias. To ask the question is to assume that conservative media are up to make white people fear Obama.

...no low is too low...

There is no bottom, just a constant, gradual descent.

I am beginning to think that the Dem internal polls are so bad that they know they have lost.

That could help explain the Bengazi lie after lie after lie.

That could help explain Obama’s poor performance at the debate (he knew it was over).

That could help explain all the obvious manipulations of the employment figures, especially the last two weeks.

That could help explain their throwing everything they can at Romney in hopes that something, anything might stick — felon, tax cheat, murderer, hates poor people, hates black people, hates middle class, etc.

My thoughts form the beginning.
They know that it’s a lost cause, so they are just going thru the motions, hoping and praying that R-R will screw up somehow..................

The poll didn’t even ask about th Presidential or Senate election. No other point of the poll other than advocacy. I see Ds and Rs are evenly split. What kind of turnout model have the WI polls been using for the 2012 election?

There is at least ONE large state that did not submit their new unemployment claims for Thursday’s figures.

There is a rumor that there are 2 such state doing so.

Has anyone found out yet which states they are & what the new claims numbers are?

This group is the official pollster for the Daily Kos. And they are straight out of Chapel Hill—North Carolina’s version of Berkeley. But even so, this is shocking.

Worse yet for the Obama supporters, this is being reported by the W.P. It’s rather interesting what the Leftist media is deeming worthy of reporting this close to the election.

If they are this willing to post an article like this, that seems to indicate they think it’s all over.

I don’t think they’d post this if they thought Obama still had a chance. They would be behind him pushing him uphill.

Check out PPP's Twitter feed. Last night they had the DU crowd on suicide watch. They were fearfully reporting that Friday's polling showed the race very tight. But, much to the relief of all those crying in their bong water at DU, they were happy to report that Saturday was much, much improved for Obama----it was remarkable.

Also, everyone in Ohio loved Biden's debate performance---especially the independents. This after they reported that Biden was not well received in any of their other swing state polling. But Ohio is a political oddity according to PPP.
