Obama knew it was a terrorist attack the first day, not the next day, if he was indeed part of the NSA meeting that was held at 5:00 PM in WA DC on 9/11. The whole thing was watched on cameras inside the consulate compound.
Obama mentioned terrorism the next day, but he did not say that the Libyan attack was terrorism. It was more like, and oh yeah, I’m strong against terrorism. Hillary had spoken before Obama and did a good job of misleading the public regarding the video being the cause for the attack, but she stopped short of saying that the video was the cause. She said that “some have said”. Obama just doubled down on that theme. They both knew and both knew that they did not want to get in an out and out lie that could be actionable.
