NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- A 20-year-old black woman told police she was set on fire by three men who wrote the initials KKK and a racial slur on her car in northeastern Louisiana.
Louisiana State Police spokeswoman Lt. Julie Lewis says Sharmeka Moffitt was found with burns on more than half of her body when police responded to her 911 call Sunday night.

Sounds like a cheap remake of the old, cheaply made, Tawana Brawley Story that race hustler Al Sharpton starred in.
That wuz a dumb joke to play on yourself and I hope you recover enough to get psychological care....

Who knew the democrats would have time to burn a black woman between Romney Ryan campaign sign thefts. They’re a busy bunch.
I dunno. There have been a lot of hoaxes like this, but none of them were badly burned as this woman has been. It’s not impossible that she harmed herself, as the woman in Seattle(IIRC) about a year ago who disfigured herself with acid and claimed someone threw it in her face. Not many people are that unhinged to harm themselves so badly, though. I’ll wait to see what the police turn up here.
Much like Richard Prior’s waving a lit match and asking....
“What’s this? It’s Richard Pryor running down the street.” I’m sure this event was caused by dunking a cookie into a glass of low-fat and pasteurized milk, causing an explosion.
Actual crimes of this of this same type have in fact happened just over the last year-the difference was that the victim was a young white boy and the perpetrators were black “youths” who poured gasoline on the boy and set him on fire. This was an actual documented crime. But no one heard about much about it because, yet again, it doesn’t sever the MSM agenda that whites are the violent racists and blacks are the innocent victims of race hatred. Crime statistics show the exact opposite, in numbers too overwhelming to be mistaken.
Just like the horrific, torture/rape/murder of Channon Cristian and Christopher Newsome-they still have not received justice. If the horrific nature of a crime ever called for national attention, this one did, but no one even knows their names.
There are many many more like them the nation at large will never hear of, because they were black on white crimes, as are the majority of interracial crimes, especially violent crimes and even more especially rapes, by far.
I would make that bet that this is another Tawana Brawley-style set-up, just in time for the election, and people looking to stoke the fires for an excuse to riot.
I think she meant to pour the liquid on her car and got it in herself.
Agreed....and also why if a black or group of blacks...or anyone else, for that matter, tried that with me....there would be multiple dead bodies laying about that field.
Be armed, or be a victim. It really is that simple.
I agree this is suspicious.
Every time one of these events occurs, we have the media all over it pointing the finger at the racism of whites against blacks. Then, as the facts trickle out, it turns out to be a hoax or something similar. But by then the damage has been done and the racism meme has been amplified and perpetuated.
The problem is, eventually there will be an incident of white on black racism committed by a complete nutcase who will turn out to have voted Republican. Then we will never hear the end of it. All the hoaxes will be forgotten, all the black on white crime will be forgotten as the media declares its outrage over the evil racist Republicans.
Every time one of these events occurs, like now, I fear this could be the one that’s finally not a hoax. Right now, I’m not convinced either way, but this one is starting to sound more fishy all the time.
Regardless of whether this woman is an innocent victim or whether this was a hoax that went wrong, I pray for her recovery, both mentally and physically.
Because it was a hot rumor in some circles...

Everyone that grew up in the deep South knows that every KKK member is a Democrat!
I am with you on this. There are reasons to be skeptical and reasons to think this might be a true or partially true story.
Not after the fire, anyway.
According to another source, this woman stated the men all had WHITE HOODIES on.... but she couldn’t tell the ‘race’ of any of them.
Maybe it’s a move up from the personal hoax, to the more complex innocent victim/masked vigilantes.
Obama, Holder and the media have only stoked racial tensions. I wouldn’t be surprised if things don’t get worse before they get better. I hope the three men are caught and they can throw away the key after the men are jailed.
