The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours

Blackfive is a military blog (I didn't put this in Bloggers & Personal because it is an authoritative blog and the subject is newsworthy, but I did post the entire post). Comments are worth reading.

That doesn’t quite explain why the two top generals in the area were removed from the theater in the last few weeks.

A Stalinist purge is in the works.

IMO, Bam Bam is giving our military even more reason to loathe him.

I would say yes, definitely bigger than Watergate.

Who is going to make the case besides a few conservatives? To discuss a few, the media will not go against one of their own, and certainly the democrats will not either. How about the RINO’s? Scared to death of the media, their social friends in the Beltway, and their own shadows.

Now the bad guy is Black. Oh boy, that seals it, in our equal opportunity society he will be given a pass by all for fear of being called racist.

..........I think the sh!t is going to hit the fan before election day. ................

Let’s all hope that the shit hits the fan before election day - even if below the fold to Frankenstorm!

My worry is that the MSM will continue to stonewall, and the sheeple will all be on their Obamaphones and tune out from this treasonous act.

I know General Ham was removed right after the 9/11/12 attack. Who is the other one?

The mass public could care less about this—which is despicable, but unfortunately I think its the truth. This will have no effect on the election.

I know it’s a crap double-standard. I recall the insistent drum beating about Abu Ghraib, which obviously pales in comparison to the willful negligence of Obama, whom was apparently quite content to idly watch men die and do nothing despite clearly having the power to intervene.

Yup. Nothing will happen. Those who try to speak out about it will be marginalized as absurdists and loons.

This is the reality of living under a Mediacracy partial to Ds.

it is probably going to come out that the President actually was not involved in the decision ,because he was unavailable due do being ensconced with a male lover somewhere , and someone else took it upon themselves to issue the NO ACTION order , since the Prez was unavailable to make the call. hey are protecting something like this ,which can never be admitted to . The SS know ....they should tell us what actually was going on . One honest man right now could make a HUGE difference for our country . tell the truth and tell it now . Do not stand with the dishonorable and undeserving .

The Navy said Saturday it is replacing the admiral in command of an aircraft carrier strike group in the Middle East, pending the outcome of an internal investigation into undisclosed allegations of inappropriate judgment.

Rear Adm. Charles M. Gaouette is being sent back to the USS John C. Stennis’ home port at Bremerton, Wash., in what the Navy called a temporary reassignment. The Navy said he is not formally relieved of his command of the Stennis strike group but will be replaced by Rear Adm. Troy M. Shoemaker, who will assume command until the investigation is completed.

It is highly unusual for the Navy to replace a carrier strike group commander during its deployment.

The Navy did not reveal details of the allegations, citing only an accusation of “inappropriate leadership judgment” that arose during the strike group’s deployment to the Middle East. Rear Adm. John Kirby, the Navy’s chief spokesman, declined to discuss the investigation.

The Stennis group deployed from Bremerton in late August and had entered the Navy 5th Fleet’s area of operations in the Middle East on Oct. 17 after sailing across the Pacific. The Stennis made port visits in Thailand and Malaysia on its way to the Middle East.

It deployed four months earlier than scheduled in response to a request by the commander of U.S. Central Command, Marine Gen. James Mattis, to maintain two aircraft carriers in the Middle East. The Stennis replaced the USS Enterprise carrier group.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta visited the Stennis and its sailors in Bremerton shortly before they departed. He thanked them for accelerating their deployment on short notice.

“I understand that it is tough,” Panetta said. “We are asking an awful lot of each of you, but frankly you are the best I have and when the world calls we have to respond.”

No, not really. It’s a reasonable allegation that some MPs stepped over the line some in their handling of some prisoners—but did it really matter? No. And it should’ve just been a simple internal matter to deal with, never the maudlin bombshell that the media deliberately warped it into. They stirred such a persistent ruckus about it, that a low-info voter probably thought GW Bush was sitting in the oval office with CCTV live feeds to Abu Ghraib prison cells, watching and directing the events personally.

... the AC130 Marine resources were in the middle of a rotation...

On 9/11, of all days. I wonder who made this decision, and if all of this - including the standing down of security in August - was coordinated toward one of the theories floating around (20,000 MANPADS; hostages, etc.).
