LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — A string of shootings at convenience stores and other businesses across Indiana has left suspects dead and sparked a debate over whether clerks should be allowed to carry weapons — and use them.

At least four attempted robberies in the state have ended in fatal shootings in the past month. In all of those cases, the clerks fired back.

In all of those cases, the clerks fired back.

Rather than second guessing whether the clerks should be defending themselves they should be given commendations and NRA life memberships.

The only reason this would “spark a debate” is if the pro-criminal lobby (such as it is) is hacked off that their members are being decimated.

That’s the only problem I see here.

What the anti-”stay alive” people don’t say is that they prefer that the STORE CLERKS, home owners, and others who refuse ‘victimhood’ do the dying.
That the old guy behind the counter may have a better gun than you and knows how to use it, could well be the reason for second and third thoughts before going in.
That lady in the upstairs bedroom may well have her shotgun aimed at her bedroom door and...well..maybe not a good idea.

I’ll stand with the clerks.

The Associated Pukes may have just pulled “sparks debate” out of their backsides too.

The first shooting occurred Sept. 17 at Don's Guns and Galleries in Indianapolis. Police said a man walked into the store, asked a clerk to rent a gun and used that weapon to shoot the clerk. The clerk fired back, killing the customer.

Now this guy is a diffinate Darwin Award winner right here.

If you go in to a gun store and rent a gun. Then proceed to load that gun standing at the counter. The clerk has his hand on his side arm prepared to kill you.

First rule on the gun range (I assume he was renting the gun to use on the gun range) is you do not load the gun until you are in your booth ready to shoot.

If you are loading your gun at the sales counter I will assume you intend to rob the store or you are a novice and a fool. Either way I will be ready to shoot you. I won’t loose my life to a thief or a fool.

Maybe they should pass a law outlawing robberies, especially those by armed robbers.

It's worth a shot.

Simple debate question: “Are the lives of armed robbers more valuable than the lives of clerks?”

“Maybe they should pass a law outlawing robberies, especially those by armed robbers.”

One would think that our gifted lawmakers might just be on top of this...you know, make it look like we’re doin sumthin. Off topic, I’ve long thought that our duly elected hoi polloi should outlaw dangerous storms as well.

I don't think people should ever lose their life over loss of money or property.

Tell that to the robbers.
It's not the cash, the store or the stuff on the shelves that the shooting is about.
It's the right to defend your person, your family, your employees, your colleagues and your livelihood.

Maybe the AP could have 0bama (or Rahm) just go talk to the robbers.

The dead perp used the range first then came in and shot the clerk who returned fire.

"our duly elected hoi polloi should..."

Put an active webcam with audio in their office, car and home so we can monitor them 24/7.

It'd also be good to install a web operated ass-kicking machine in their office and make them occupy same machine for an hour a day or so.

Exactamundo.

It's the perp who makes the decision that someone may ...lose their life over loss of money or property, the armed citizen merely has the option of deciding that the someone will be the bad guy.

Does anyone know the link to that great YouTube video where the career criminal complains about the workplace stress of an armed citizenry?

Right.

It disturbs me that anyone could even suggest that armed clerks are the problem and not the robbers.
Of course there will be questions asked whenever someone gets shot, I expect nothing less.
Just remember "Innocent until proven guilty" very much applies here.
