Perhaps it is time to rise up.

Posted on 10/29/2012 6:47:47 AM PDT by Capt. Canuck

The MSM is going to do what it can to keep Libya under wraps and let Obama lie his way to running out the clock.

But what if America rises up against Obama, what if every place Obama goes a huge crowd of loud protestors are there to demand answers. What if every campaign rally he holds has twice as many protesters than attendees, what if the media is hounded about why they are not covering this story every time they try to talk to somebody? What if the media itself became the target of massive protests?

Could Obama be chased by this story until he has no option but to hole up in the WH like Hitler's bunker? Could the media be pushed into doing their job?

I think it's time to move from shock to outrage, and time to let the outrage be heard and seen in massive ways.

Mittens seems to be silent about it. He could speak for you but I am not so sure its a good idea. Obama might use it as a trap and we are too close to election day taking chances.

And the corrupt MSM should be the first to go.

Prediction: Obviously Obama knows the heat is on. Therefore, in order to avoid any questions and, in order to show his “caring side,” he will sequester himself in the White House for the next week in his feeble attempt to lower the rise of the oceans during the Sandy Scenario. That way he will be seen (by some) as being “presidential” and at the same time avoid the truth for another eight days.

Don’t we mock DU for their countless and endless “The day that changed everything.”?

This is the same thing.

I have no idea what will wake people up anymore and I can’t even guess. It just seems to me what is going to be the break in the dam at this point is going to be something so seemingly trivial and inconsequential that it just becomes a situation of enough being enough.

The only thing that makes me say that is heretofore none of the big stuff that should matter seems to matter to people.

True, this is not the time to be taking unnecessary risks in the campaign. We’re too close to throwing the bum out to risk letting him back in.

But the bigger question is: what repercussions will there be AFTER the election, or more accurately, after Inauguration Day?

Sadly, we’ve seen countless examples of just how spineless the GOP truly is. I’d be willing to bet that Romney & Co. will want to “play nice” and “reach across the aisle” in their first few months. That means it is highly unlikely there will ever be trials held and proper punishments dispensed. More’s the pity.

The biggest problem facing Republicans and conservatives is the leftist MSM oligopoly. Once America’s media has returned to a more politically balanced state, will Americans get the news and information needed to make informed decisions about their future.

The way to bust up this oligopoly is to bring back the Federal Communications Commission’s ownership rules that were in place in the 1970s, but updated to take into account changes in technology.

Simply put, if someone owns a broadcast medium under FCC regulation, the FCC can limit what other media they can own.

Right now, the “big six” media corporations in America own or effectively control TV and radio broadcasting; movies, TV, radio, music and live content production; newspapers and magazine and book publishing, large parts of the Internet, vast libraries of copyrighted media content, and other segments of the American media.

So the FCC can say that if they own or control some kind of broadcasting, they must divest their ownership and control of most of its other media. The easiest way to do this is to split into two or more different corporations.

Judging by the volumes of junk mail I get from dead tree media organs begging me to subscribe, I think they have already heard us.

So....we can restore a more Conservative country through greater FCC reguation?

Color me skeptical.

Just what we need...

Undermine the constitution through more regulations, in order to restore it??????

NO, the best thing to do is “Operation Thrift”..

Do not watch or read their magazines, newspapers, blogs or so called news channels..

Next, divest yourself from anything financial with them..look at your mutual funds and retirement funds, etc.. and remove your capital from their coffers..

Third, find out who the largest advertisers are, and just say No... letters and emails are not necessary, just say no.. if they send out letters and stuff in the mail with pre addressed and postage paid envelopes, THEN you can write a letter of displeasure, and mail it back to them, in their envelope, paid for by them...

The msm will die a death of a thousand cuts..

Which Article in the Constitution gives the FedGov the power to have a Department like the FCC?

Take your time... We'll wait...

Did you find it yet? No? That's because it isn't there.

Toss the FCC back to the free market, like the IEEE for electronics, and let competition finally kill off the liberals chokehold on the MSM.

Actually, the FCC fits neatly in the Interstate Commerce Clause, the real part, not the abused part, and is in line with other concepts in the constitution such as the authority of the feds to regulate navigable waterways.

The idea is that electronic bandwidth is both limited and an inherently interstate property. It *has* to be federally regulated to prevent interference that could result in disaster. States cannot determine how the bandwidth is used, because there cannot be conflict.

If there is any argument to be made, it is that the feds do not have the authority to regulate the content of what is being transmitted, only the actual transmission.

Because it is a limited resource, an argument can be made that if someone is allocated bandwidth, they must have the ability to use it, and they must use it. They cannot have use of it and let it sit idle. So they must have the resources to use it as part of their lease.

Logically, the FCC rules on ownership were oriented to particular markets, in which a media owner would try to form a local monopoly over content, by controlling all the TV, radio and newspapers in a city.

However, since the FCC rules were abandoned, this monopolization (as an oligopoly) has taken place at the national level.

No, the reverse is true. If Romney & Ryan talked about it, it would be considered politicizing it. It NEEDS to be covered by as many outlets as we can get and for those who are offered a chance to talk about other things on the MSM shows to bring the issue up in front of the collaborators. Watch them and their reactions. Yes, I agree, that everywhere Biden, Clinton or Obama go, we need signs and people in the street asking questions politely. Remember the thing about the SS being able to arrest protestors without provocation if they THINK that someone could do harm to the speaker.

To me the way you get the attention of the MSM is by taking away their source if income.

They depend on advertising dollars to run their propaganda and unless and until we stop buying products from companies and organizations that support them they will never listen. I know from over 36 years in the support side of business that calling in and going to a complaint line is what we call a “steam valve”. Sure you can call in and say whatever you want and feel like you “vented” but until they feel it in revenue they will not do a damned thing!

Further, they KNOW that the Internet is taking away their informational monopoly, look at all of the dinosaurs dying out there. In the new Digital era print is dead or dying and this is the last election cycle they will have any real measure of impact with the status quo.

So, do not bother calling in to anyone who supports the “machine”, identify their “food sources” (advertisers) and let THEM know that unless they stop supporting a slanted view of reality you will take your money elsewhere. IF they do not respond then just like telling your kids there are repercussions take your hard earned money elsewhere. It is the voice of the Customer and I will tell you it is the ONLY way to get them to rethink where they spend ad dollars.

No customers, no revenue, big problem!

No. It doesn't. For the same reason the FAA doesn't. Nor NASA... Explicit duties listed do not extend to any implied crap some legislator can dream up.

Calling for mass demonstrations has the problem that Shakespeare pointed out if one tries to call up spirits: “Why, so can I, or so can any man; But will they come when you do call for them?”
