Bill Clinton revealed at a campaign rally today that President Barack Obama's feeling were hurt over Mitt Romney's ad suggesting Jeep might move some of its production facilities overseas:
"I saw the reports of Governor Romney's latest ad saying that the president had allowed Jeep to move to China," said Clinton. "And so this morning, before he left Florida and went back to Washington, he said, 'You know, of all the things Governor Romney has said that probably hurts my feelings the most.' He said, 'You know, I never had any money when I was a kid. and the first new car I ever owned I was 30 years old it was a Jeep.'"
Interestingly, according an old USA Today report, Obama's first car was a Ford Granada.
Like many men, President Obama has fond memories of his first car -- even if it was a Ford Granada.
"I have to confess; my first car was my grandfather's car," Obama told AAA in an interview. "Which was a Ford Granada."

Well, Obama doesn’t have to worry. Looks like Jeep isn’t moving to China now. Instead Jeep AND Chrysler will most likely move to Italy.

30 years old in 1991, just finished at Harvard, fat book advance for being black president of Harvard Law Review, and he buys a new Jeep. Life was good. I’m glad he and MO struggled with student loans after they were married....
It’s really getting tough to stomach seeing Bill Clinton hanging around every corner. Is anyone asking him if his wife went into any detail about the protest in Libya and if he watched the video? Anyone ask him why she lied and has now fled?

The dubious issue of an upper end Middle Class family and of an academic elite, and you're begging for sympathy?
It will be a major challenge to get any sort of car or truck built in China that will be acceptable in the USA or most of the rest of the western world for that matter. Does Jeep think it can? I smell failure in the works for any market beyond China itself. If anyone should try this it is a purely capitalistic enterprise that is convinced it will have success.
