We get the government they deserve.
Is this on top of the 41% increased layoffs announced in October?
More people on the dole....more solid the dem base becomes....it’s over unless boner gets a pair.
Reality strikes home in 3....2....1....!
I am tweeting all these using #obamalayoffs if any twitterers would like to do the same

Yeah - but at least these companies aren’t going to get big tax cuts.
So it’s all good. :)
Some of them should have seen some indications, but how many (at least to their workers) of these come as a ‘surprise’?
How many of these ‘increased’ the impacted number from pre-announced laid off plan, if the plan was in the working?
This is just the beginning. Next we will told that we have to “hail Satan” and that churches will either be taxed if they stay open or closed down.
Man, I am bitter.
ugh! I have been using #ObamaEconomy — tweet onward!! ;-)
GOP should go for the sequester in the name of “fairness” - more people need to have skin in the game and pay “their fair share.”
But of course they are likely in RED states. Revenge is a b**ch.
Who will pay? The middle-class workforce, of course.
So with another four years for President Obama to look forward to, and the obvious inevitability of Obamacare that this entails, let’s examine the very real jobs that will be lost, and the very real lives that will be affected.
Welch Allyn
Welch Allyn, a company that manufactures medical diagnostic equipment in central New York, announced in September that they would be laying off 275 employees, or roughly 10% of their workforce over the next three years. One of the major reasons discussed for the layoffs was a proactive response to the Medical Device Tax mandated by the new healthcare law.
Dana Holding Corp.
As recently as a week ago, a global auto parts manufacturing company in Ohio known as Dana Holding Corp., warned their employees of potential layoffs, citing “$24 million over the next six years in additional U.S. health care expenses”. After laying off several white collar staffers, company insiders have hinted at more to come. The company will have to cover the additional $24 million cost somehow, which will likely equate to numerous cuts in their current workforce of 25,500 worldwide.
Stryker
One of the biggest medical device manufacturers in the world, Stryker will close their facility in Orchard Park, New York, eliminating 96 jobs in December. Worse, they plan on countering the medical device tax in Obamacare by slashing 5% of their global workforce - an estimated 1,170 positions.
Medtronic
In March of 2010, medical device maker Medtronic warned that Obamacare taxes could result in a reduction of precisely 1,000 jobs. That plan became reality when the company cut 500 positions over the summer, with another 500 set for the end of 2013.
Others
A short list of other companies facing future layoffs at the hands of Obamacare:
Smith & Nephew - 770 layoffs
Abbott Labs - 700 layoffs
Covidien - 595 layoffs
Kinetic Concepts - 427 layoffs
St. Jude Medical - 300 layoffs
Hill Rom - 200 layoffs
Add on those companies reducing hours to keep employees part-time and avoid Obamacare taxes.

The rich will stay rich. They have the means by which to shelter their wealth. I say good for them. Unfortunately, the middle class will be forced into poverty. That’s been the true goal since that a$$ clown was elected in 2008.
‘and that WHITE churches will either be taxed if they stay open or closed down’
Wow. Obama thanks them for waiting until the election. ugh
My understanding about how the DoD will approach sequestration is that they’ll idle weapons and systems production lines first.
Boeing is raking in a lot of money making P-8s, F/A-18E/Fs and now KC-45s. Lockheed, another company that decided to play ball with Obama on the whole WARN Act mandate makes F-35s.
As far as I’m concerned sequestration is a big ol’ sh*tburger that they cooked up, and they should now be prepared to take a bite.
Me neither, now that I reflect upon it. Thankx.
Only our uneducated electorate would need to see these stories to comprehend the massive unintended, and intended consequences of Obama and his policies.
We’re just stuck in the mud right now, while Romney would have been infinitely better than Obama, he would have been legislatively impotent with the senate as it exists.
Let Obama own the downfall all by his lonesome.
A lot of those CEOs are leaving the country.
Those taxes they supported? They’re not going to be paying them. :)
Isn’t a review board of 8 retired doctors in each hospital part of the Obamacare mess? Can you take your wife’s case to this so called hospital review board and ask about getting her more care if she needs it?
And millions of hourly workers about to find out their employer is capping work week at 29 to avoid ObamaCare’s “30 hours is full time” rule are in for a rude awaking in the new year.
Perhaps it's time to inform the people in this country of this incident. If it was me, and it could easily be because I'm almost 70, I would contact my local media, newspaper via letters to the editor, talk radio, etc. (use your imagination) and explain to them just what is happening to your wife. Because nobody will believe this unless someone tells them first hand.
And secondly, I would check with a cancer hospital in your vicinity for testing and care if need be. I live near Roswell Park in Bflo., NY and I know they treat people who can't afford to pay for their own care. Do not give up because you have a door closed in your face. Throw this right back into the face of the politicians and the media. Do not keep this incident to yourself for all of our sakes.
It upsets me I could say that until last month.
Doesn’t she have Medicare and a Medicare supplement?
Screw you. The working poor see payroll taxes taken from their paychecks, probably along with confiscatory union dues and they pay income taxes.
If that later's refunded that's not their fault--blame Congress. Those hourly workers are about to see the work week capped at 29 hours to avoid ObamaCare instead of working as many hours as needed by the business.
You want to believe these were all Obama voters but that's a lie you tell yourself. What the Democrats poke Republicans with, that they don't care because they 'got theirs,' is certainly an attitude I witnessed from some on FR. It's repulsive. Like the unfortunate 47% comment, it divides, in gives life to the class warfare rhetoric of the Left. STOP IT!
We should persuade, we should offer hands up not belittle and grind people down particularly in this abominable economy.
Are you so ignorant, arrogant and hate-filled to believe every one of those additional food stamp beneficiaries are happy about it? What about the unemployed and underemployed? It's their fault, right?
Congratulations on the long marriage and I hope for many more!
Its starting!
That is true, but do you really think he cares?
don’t say that.
Anyways, we should all do our part to bleed out the system.
We should all get ObamaPhones and subsidized $9.95 a month high-speed internet and whatever else.
No, I don’t believe that all the poor voted for Obama as I don’t believe all the rich voted for Romney. I was a working poor for many years and all I saw was my taxes, as well as cost for living, go up.
However, I do hate it when the poor say “tax the rich” and offer nothing in return. I believe we need to help them but they also need to help themselves. Only together can both sides make it. If the poor expects the rich to help them and they do nothing then they become dependent upon handouts and not a helping hand.

Five years is the arbitrary time when they consider you cured. However, my husband lasted nine years after his first cancer operation, and then he died. I am over 70 now and I had cancer four years ago. I don’t consider myself cured, though, and I won’t be able to get any more mamograms to see if I am free of cancer, according to Obama’s plans.
The working poor do not pay Federal income taxes. See: Earned Income Tax Credit. I knew a guy who had about $2,500/yr in Federal income taxes withheld from his biweekly paychecks. At the end of the year, he would get a "tax refund" of over $10,000. That is the EITC, and this guy was not working poor. More like lower-middle class.
BTW, he felt guilty about this EITC, but cashed the checks anyway because he needed them, looking forward to the day when his income was high enough to no longer qualify. I don't know, but I would assume he's probably in minority (he had conservative ethics).
I'm now of the opinion that everyone -- even the poor -- should pay some income taxes. Even if it is only a nominal amount. But it should be a large enough percentage of the person's income to give him pause whenever a politician promises another wonder government program. Things would be a lot different in this country if *every* worker in America needed to ask himself, But will this wonderful new program cause my taxes to increase?
What is going to be funny is when these large corporations stop supporting ABC, NBC, CBS CNN because they are not making money and then watch these left wing reporters go nuts because they are being laid off due to lack of selling ad space.
