He's going to testify...and he's going to tell the truth.

He decided to self-confess ahead of time so the story can get out on his terms and in his words.

He knows if he tells the truth at the hearing, the administration will out him in the nastiest way afterwards.

In short, he pre-empted Obama and his den of blackmailers, thieves and extortioners by outing himself.

I wish all the Obama mafia would be indicted under the RICO conspiracy Act....and quickly before he takes our country down to ruin.

No matter if he was pushed to resign, or he is getting out before TSHTF, or this is just a convenience coincidence; the memory of Petraus will be that the CIA is the source of "them movie made them do it," as well as any intelligence failure to know of the threat and to act in defense after the attack started.

Yes. That makes sense. He'd be the scapegoat and they'd have their excuse for the big lie about Benghazi.

Rep. Peter King mentioning on Sean Hannity show, that rumors are around about who the person was, and that they may have been accessing Petraeus’ computer.

Williams, the classic honey trap.

In Ronald Kessler's Moscow Station a Soviet Embassy employee sweet-talks the Marine guard into letting her handlers into the bubble.

John Deutch had 17,000 files on his unsecure home computer, walked out of Langley with disks in his pocket.

Lantos to Livingstone re Boorda is apt.

This is the president who said, "I will stand with them."

And, "America can withstand another 911."

As well as the infamous, "After my election I will have more flexibility."

The military-intelligence leadership has been cleared of patriots and backfilled with traitors.

After the Night of the Long Knives the State will have completed its coup without firing a shot.

In Petraeus' case, his choice was resign or wind up in a bathtub like John Millis or Danny Casolaro.

Or Vince what's-his-name.

Better, Boorda.

I think you are right. He will cover for Obama. Could be he was chosen to take the fall anyway for Benghazi. That said, he could have just announced he would be resigning after Obama’s 1st term.

No one would be the wiser.

See my # 281. The General had to move quickly because the hearing are scheduled next week. No time for undercover work as you suggested.

“I even said to my husband before the election “wonder what they have on him?” now we know.”

Dollars to donuts, his affair was in process during or before his CIA appointment. Obama needed leverage in the event he needed to blackmail Petraeus. The man was an idiot to engage in an affair; an affair for someone in his position is a national security problem.

My friend is investigated every 3-4 years to retain his T.S. clearance. The issue of an affair is always something that is addressed when friends, family, neighbors, are questioned during the investigation. It has nothing to do with morals. It has everything to do with what might be “out there” that would make him vulnerable to blackmail.

Seems that Petraeus let his little head do the thinking instead of his big head. Horrible decision. Obama found his vulnerability and utilized it to his advantage.

The Bengazi hearings are coming up. Could it be that he does not want to
testify before congress.

Whiny Michelle McFee, the substitute for Howie Carr on Boston radio today, says that Petraeus' wife is tight with smarmy Granny Warren (Fauxcahontas), our new Massachusetts senator, and that she worked on her campaign.

MacPhee is hinting that this is the dame Petraeus was banging on the side.
