The ranking Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee said he’s spoken to former CIA Director David Petraeus about still testifying on the Benghazi attack — and the answer is not now.
Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) said on ABC’s This Week this morning that his committee wasn’t told about the Petraeus investigation — reportedly centering around his mistress and emails — until Friday, when the general’s resignation was announced.
“He and I have already had a conversation. You know, he’s trying to put his life back together right now and that’s what he needs to focus on,” Chambliss said in regard to Thursday’s closed-door Benghazi hearing, at which Petraeus was supposed to testify.

I suspect he did have an affair. But that is not a common reason for quitting.
I understand your frustration, but I’m afraid you’re deluded. Obama is not going to get impeached in 100 years and he wouldn’t listen to three million female tea partiers on the WH front lawn.
You are assuming that the affair was real, and not a ruse.
You are also assuming that his wife was not complicit in the situation.

Yes I assume the affair was real. If the wife was complicit (which I don’t think)...I’m sure she did not want it to become public knowledge and humiliate her and her children.
Hey...if you’re going to cheat on your spouse...get a divorce. That part is black and white to me. If he had just got a divorce and wanted to play the field....he would still be the head of CIA and have a bright future. But no, he threw his good name away for a bit of secret side action. Blooming stupid. Arrogant. Stupid.
The affair is not the news...IMO. What’s news is that the head of CIA put himself in the position to be blackmailed. So yes, he did the honorable thing by quitting. But he needs to continue to do the right thing and get his backside to Congress and answer questions put before him. IMO he’s lost any right to having a shred of privacy on this matter. Country first soldier.
The Broadwell chick was a married Army officer also. This is fraternization and ought to cost Gen Davy at least one star on his retirement benny package. And Saxby needs to get the load out of his pants and knock off the apology ( it’s so hard! ) explanations.

At the beginning of this, when I saw the first picture they put up with her in it, I reacted to her hair. I am 80, but I would never let my hair be gray. I just immediately thought her hair makes her look so old. I don't think I was trying to find fault, I just thought she looks old and doesn't have to. I use a box 10 minute color from the drug store to keep my hair blond without gray in it.
Yes, she has the spreading out in the middle that happens to some women when they get older but that was not bad and was secondary to the gray hair.
I saw a picture of her and him when he was a student at West Point and she was a beautiful young woman. She is fairly short and I've seen several today type pictures and she is wearing those cover all short jackets and that makes her look shorter. A dress of all one color without a short cut jacket would make her look leaner and taller.
In recent past years, I was traveling Texas teaching election seminars, and traveling with my lovely friend who is 5'10”. I am 5'5” and felt like a midget standing next to her. I wore solid color dresses or pants with the same color top, so I wouldn't look like a shorty cut in two.
I feel sorry for Holly having to raise the family with him gone most of the time and now having to deal with this.
I don't think he should be allowed to take time off to deal with this family problem when his vital testimony is needed. He didn't think about family when he had the affair and I think he should have to deal with that right now as it is his duty. That takes one day to testify and tell the truth and he needs to do it.
I agree with you on the impossibility that anybody in House would, or even could, initiate impeachment proceedings.
But you’re dead wrong about two things. First, Benghazi wasn’t a 9/11 celebration; it was a protest that got a little bit too enthusiastic. It was really the fault of a blasphemous video, and its producer has been justly sent to prison. We know all of this because the US government and the mainstream media told us this, and they can always be trusted. Second, nobody is going to cancel Thanksgiving outright. It will instead become an opportunity to give thanks to the government for being our sufficiency and strength, and comrades will be encouraged to perform service to the community. (BTW, ever notice that “community organizer” and “communist” have the same root?) We can only become more than the sum of our aspirations when our aspirations are guided by our good government.

Checking MSM for their coverage on this...Seems to me they are only going to ccover the Petraeus part of the “scandal” and not the actual cover up by the Obama administration....not surprised at all
As long as they do not refer to themselves as”journalists” then I am fine with it.

yes, but it is a case of gradually accelerated alternatives. Petraeus does have a large number of such friends, which is why Obama couldn’t put him inside of a plane crash.So Obama ruins his reputation and keeps iPetraeus in a box by threatening to prosecute for adultery. If that doesn’t shut Petraeus up, or fauils to make Petraeus follow the Obama script, then the accelerated alternatives will begin to materialize.
Obama is betting that Petraeus will fold. I am not so sure about that.
