I don’t care what they think about me. I care about potential voters being chased away.

By “We” I expect you mean the cowardly Republicans? Boner who has already declared Obamacare to be the law of the land? Is that the “We” that will control our fate? Good luck with that!

Ok - sell the food to the (old) USA, use the money to buy whatever you want.

What percentage to the world’s food is produced in the heartland of North America?

What would happen if there was a small export tariff from the Central States?

Very well stated. The frustration felt by so many is that they see the gravity of the situation, and also have come to realize that there is no path to reverse our slide into the abyss. Those that mock secession movements never seem to put forward practical solutions. Changing the GOP’s image, becoming more conservative, becoming less conservative, embracing amnesty ... all of these kinds of ideas are merely rearranging chairs on the Titanic. The time for listening to people like Beck (or most of Fox news punditry) is over. They don’t have the solutions, and are clueless about what is actually going on in this country. I don’t know what will happen, but I am quite certain that Beck doesn’t either.

secession - States rights- this is what the Conservative Element was deciding with the Election in 2012. i was surprised to see Michigan on the list.

Oddly enough the UP of Michigan has been wanting to separate from Lower Michigan for many years to make Superiorland the 51st State. Secessionist views are considered Nuts by many others.

But look at the whole picture - the states can secede if they chose because the states do not want the higher unemployment that will come with the full implementation of ObamaCare in 2014. If you think unemployment is bad now, in 2014 it will well above 35%. Insurance providers will be closing their doors and more people will be put onto the government and more people will mean rationing and so forth.

here in the UP, we have more physicians retiring and leaving, the few physicians that we have are already cutting back on patient loads because of electronic charts. and many elderly are being informed to go to Wisconsin for their medical care. I know this firsthand because I take care of my mother whom is elderly and has alzheimers. I moved her to the UP of Michigan, so I could have a life of my own, but I have to take her back to Wisconsin for medical appointments.

Being on that list may make you an enemy of the FedGov™ but not the enemy of (your) state. This is a republic, get it?

I understand your point, but he was using "state" as defined say, by Albert Jay Nock in, Our Enemy, the State"

I’d rather see America secede from the northeastern and west coast states.

Sounds like an easy way for the government to find out who the “trouble makers” are....besides, we don’t need to ask.

You are right, in that online petitions are a joke. If there was a real secessionist movement, it would consist of real signatures, rallies, etc. in the states in question. I have yet to hear of such a thing. I also think that secession is unrealistic, barring some kind of economic collapse.

Correct. Secession will not happen the way people envision, for two reasons: There are no leaders at the State level with a "Warrior" spirit. Second, conditions are not present for such action.

The way things are evolving it seems that some years in the future, the Federal Govt will essentially become insolvent. Hopefully, at that point in order to prevent CWII or Revolution, there will be enough strong State leaders to gather and legally, through Constitutional methods quickly remove from the Federal government ALL unconstitutional functions. Many Federal parasites will have to be fired and their pensions revoked. In addition, all courts below the S.C will have to be dissolved.

There is a peaceful way to slay the Federal Monster. It can only peacefully be accomplished by the States and only at the point when the Federal Monster is about do devour us all. I say it all happens within 15 years.

No matter what we do they call us loons anyway!

Question - Why do we always have to act in certain way to avoid being called loons and other names?

First, you say - don’t go after obama/soetoro’s constitutional eligibility issue because they will call us loons;
Then you say just vote them out. OK you learn the hard way that you can’t vote them out because they know how to cheat but you don’t.
Now even your nice, polite, law-abiding ‘vote them out’ gets you nothing but smirks, gloats, mockery and miseries;

but what do you do? — you choose to just take it, don’t even think of leaving the ‘Union’ that is ‘indivisible’.....

You folks sure act like the ‘battered wives’ - it is always your faults, you deserve the beating. You don’t dare to entertain the idea of leaving your abusive spouse!

The woman in the picture, freezing, wrapped in blankets, with her bundles of probably government provisions, is what the future of America is going to look like if we don’t take action now to be prepared for anything. I guess the preppers don’t look so crazy now.

Glenn is on this issue to me kind of like the show Veggie Tales. Where they preach good Christian morality and life lessons (Without ONCE mentioning Jesus or G-d)

Glenn is like this too, PREPARE! PREPARE! PREPARE!

Prepare for what? The Collapse? Well yes, but what do you think comes with the Collapse Glenn!?

This secession talk hasn't gained all that much traction YET, but wait until "The Collapse" does come, when those EBT cards truly don't work.

But won't the government always make sure they work? Actually yes, as long as they are able, but once they cannot through Hyperinflation or any number of contingencies. It will all fall apart

The next Civil War will look less like Bull Run, Gettysburg or Vicksburg, but more like Sarajevo circa 1995.

Think about that Glenn.
