Skip to comments.Obama to McCain: You canít stop Susan Rice from being Secretary of State
Posted on 11/14/2012 12:57:25 PM PST by mojito
President Obama, irritated by Republican pledges to prevent Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice from receiving a promotion, said that Rices critics have a problem with me.
When they go after the UN ambassador apparently because they think shes an easy target, then theyve got a problem with me, Obama told reporters today. And should I choose if I think that she would be the best person to serve America in the capacity of the State Department [head] then I will nominate her, but thats not a determination Ive made yet.
Obama was responding to a press conference held by three GOP senators this morning. We will do whatevers necessary to block the nomination thats within our power as far as Susan Rice is concerned, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told reporters today during a press conference on Capitol Hill. McCain faulted Rice for saying that the Benghazi terrorist attack grew out of a spontaneous protest against an anti-Islam Youtube video.

“Barry says hes happy to have a discussion about Bengahzi. I say takehim up on it.....”
This is what Obama does not want us to know!!
**** Benghazi**** ?? RUSSIA Involvement
These are very serious allegations involving Russia with Benghazi & the “US movement of weapons” to the Syria rebels!!
November 12, 2012 at 1:16 pm
As I listened to our friend “Senator Feinstein” on Fox News Sunday speaking of Petraeus and his initial untrue remarks about the video, she mentioned that in closed session within three days he said it was in fact terrorism.
Feinstein then spoke of the RPGs stating when you see those RPGs you know its one of two kinds of attack
either a terrorists attack or a military attack. Watching Feinstein there was a tell
she was twisting and gripping her hands a bit
Consider Benghazi was an attack on Ambassador Stevens
in a MILLITARY attack
The RPGs and large armaments suggest that possibility
Ambassador Stevens was raped and defiled as a message to the USA
He was “payback” for the same treatment that was dished out to Kaddaffi
and a “warning” to:
the USA for the arms Stevens had being shipping into Syria to take down another friend of Russias, Assad. Russia set that Millitary attack on our compound into play
Lamecherry refers to the Benghazi fiasco as Analgate because in that rape and murder is the core message
You sanctioned a rape and muder of our friend, and we return the favor
Kaddaffis treatment brought about Stevens treatment
And as Obama watched what took place in real time in Benghazi he knew, he got that message
but he didnt want the American people, the voter to understand what had taken place
or what it meant..
Russia took that Millitary Action in Benghazi with their agents against Stevens
for retribution against the USA
Payback is a bitch
I extrapolate further
The person who called the FBI about threats being received from Paula Broadwell has been revealed to be a non government worker as reported tonight
this outsider, Ms. Kelly was threatened in emails and so contacted the FBI
.Broadwell states she sent no such emails
so perhaps its a “covert operation” to bring Benghazi out of the closet and into the open
..and reveal what had actually taken place in Benghazi.
Someone wants people to know Russia was behind the events of Benghazi
.Someone wants us to know of our presidents actions
On Tuesday of this week, Election Day, a “Russian nuclear sub” was 275 miles off our East Coast, a very usual event
Was this a victory lap of sorts? Perhaps Russia wants Americans to pay attention
They dont appreciate our “Presidents gun running and missile running” into their friend Assads Syria
there will be retribution to the USA for mistreatment of Russias friends (Kaddaffi begets Stevens
America had better handle its rogue president
Attention was cast on Petraeus though the threatening emails, to bring attention to a rogue presidents “illegal arms dealings”
with a warning is delivered with the presence of a nuclear sub off our coast
I googled Benghazi + attack + Millitary + Russia
.the post below is what came up:
DVORAK: WAS ROMNEY RIGHT ABOUT RUSSIA? THE BENGHAZI CONNECTION
POSTED BY: THE PUBLISHER ON: NOVEMBER 3 2012 CATEGORIZED IN: KIMBERLY DVORAK
As the presidential election nears its conclusion, the current Commander-in-Chief, Barack Obama, is finally facing media scrutiny surrounding his handling of the 9/11 attack in Libya that took the life of U.S. Ambassador, Chris Stevens, and three others.
As the layers of spin are pulled back, information reveals that the U.S. may have been trafficking weapons under Ambassador Stevens watch and Russia didnt like it.
It is indisputable that the U.S. government was aware the Benghazi mission was under attack based on real-time drone surveillance video feeds from Libya to the Department of Defense, the U.S. State Department, Central Intelligence Agency, and the White House Situation Room. What is also now known is that the mission was under surveillance before the Benghazi attack by the very Libyan security forces charged with protecting the U.S. consulate and numerous requests for additional security went unanswered by U.S. officials.
Its also been reported that Ambassador Stevens had been meeting with multiple terrorist representatives in Benghazi.
According to a Washington Times story, The evidence suggests that the Obama administration has not simply been engaging, legitimating, enriching and emboldening Islamists who have taken over or are ascendant in much of the Middle East. Starting in March 2011, when American diplomat J. Christopher Stevens was designated the liaison to the opposition in Libya,
the Obama administration has been arming them, including jihadists like Abdelhakim Belhadj, leader of the al Qaeda franchise known as the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group
It now appears that Stevens was there on a particularly risky day, with no security to speak of and despite now copiously documented concerns about his own safety and that of his subordinates for another priority mission: sending arms recovered from the former regimes stocks to the opposition in Syria.
Just one hour before the fateful attack that cost Stevens his life, Obama administration officials say Stevens met with Turkish Consul General Ali Sait Akin. This acknowledgement opens the door to arms trafficking. Prior to the Benghazi attack Stevens was warned about a ship sent from Libya and docked in Turkey loaded with arms intended for the anti-Assad rebels that may actually be destined for al-Qaeda fighters in the region. Apparently, after the meeting between Stevens and Ali Sait Akin did not result in an agreement to end the U.S. lead anti-Assad arms shipments, the Turk abruptly left the meeting and the U.S. Benghazi consulate was attacked an hour later.
In an interview with this reporter in San Diego, retired CIA/NSA Director Michael Hayden (General, USAF ret) said the Libya incident was predictable.
So why leave Benghazi open? Hayden said, I cant explain that. However, he concedes the most plausible explanation for the Benghazi incident centers on the CIAs efforts to move weapons from Libya through Turkey and to the Syrian rebels in order to overthrow Syrian Dictator Bashar Assad.
I think the story is that this (moving arms) was going to go to the Sunnis that opposed Assad. And Assad is Russias friend, Hayden said.
I dont know the specifics of attack, but the question I asked is what was the plan? What did you have on the shelf because this could not have been so unexpected given the deteriorating security situation in Benghazi? What was the concept for defending people? Its kind of alone, small and isolated in (Benghazi), Hayden explained. Im more concerned about the thinking that went on before the attack began and tend to be less critical of what happened seven hours after the attack.
Another curious piece to this puzzle is Russia. Did they have a part to play inside Benghazi and was presidential contender, Mitt Romney right that Russia remains a threat to the U.S.?
The Russian response, under former KGB Cold War foe Valdimir Putin, who was visibly incensed last fall when a jubilant crowd of rebels murdered his ally, Muammar Qaddafi, has described the event as repulsive and disgusting.
Shortly after the death of U.S. ambassador in Libya, numerous Russian commentators used social media to describe their position on the destabilization in Libya.
The democratized residents of Libya thanked the staff of the American Embassy for its support, one Tweet read. This is what you call exporting democracy, it seems. America gives Libya a revolution, and Libyans, in return, kill the ambassador.
Aleksei K. Pushkov, the head of Russias parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, wrote via Twitter: Under Qaddafi they didnt kill diplomats. Obama and Clinton are in shock? What did they expect Democracy? Even bigger surprises await them in Syria, a New York Times story read in September.
It is no secret that Putin disagreed with the Wests view of Syrian ruler Assad. When Putin was Prime Minister, he delivered a scathing criticism of the Libya bombing by NATO and left the impression that under his leadership it would have never happened.
Its also worth pointing out that Russia and China have consistently opposed any military intervention in Syria. Russia and its allies have repeatedly warned the West that efforts to aid Syrian rebels would only bring more bloodshed to an already embattled region. Also, the Russians have been demanding a cessation of U.S. aid to the Syrian rebels fighting President Assad, again noting that any military aid would destabilizes the entire region, and could have serious economic consequences for Russia.
Even Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov cautioned the West against arming the Syrian rebels. However, the Arab Times news agency said, Western officials say that Russias vetoes have abetted the Syrian violence by encouraging Assad to pursue an offensive with his Russian-supplied armed forces to crush the popular revolt. Saudi Arabia and Qatar are believed to have funded arms shipments.
Case in point, in late August Russia said there was increasing evidence that Syrian rebels were procuring large numbers of Western-made weapons. They even suggested that America and other EU countries were spurring the violence in Syria.
So was Benghazi a message delivered by the Russians to end U.S. gun-running by executing Ambassador Stevens, the kingpin between the armed groups, the Libya stockpiles, and the shipments to Turkey?
Did this American meddling in Syria unhinge Russias patience? And is it possible that Russians or their surrogates assisted al-Qaeda in the Benghazi consulate attack?
Moving (weapons) from Libya to Turkey to Syria or to Lebanon to Syria is completely plausible. I dont know about the Russian part, but the trafficking piece is a yes, Hayden concluded.
Read yesterdays story in the Washington Guardian:
“but pissing on republican Senators with egos as big as his... he will lose...”
Dream along with me, I’m on my way to the stars.....
Hitler (Obama) rants & raves!!! Impeach the murderous traitor and his hate American ilk!!!
Heard that he might nominate “Have I told you I’m a war hero” Kerry for the job. If we’re not careful he might go with Rice for the job, and nominate Kerry for Secretary of Defense instead.
“Ask her under oath if she was told to say protest over a video.”
“Under oath” my ass. Do you really think these animals know or even care what “under oath” means?
Yep...no shortage of limp-wristed traitorous republicans who will confirm anybody Erkle nominates, including my spineless senator Mike Crapo who was only too eager to vote to confirm the incompetent tax cheat little timmy geithner for sec treas.
To hell with all of them
I think a lot of the FReepers you address here are doubtful of the veracity of McCain’s claim... Considering the source it’s not that hard to see why!
That’s where he’s going already.
For treaties it is 2/3 of members present IIRC.
Please advise whether or not the Constitution of the United States Article II, Section 2 reads (more-a-less) as follows:
The President shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur.
Recess appointment. The impotent Republicans did not challenge Obama the last time he did that.
Ever been to Philly, buster?
Damn right sparky, we do have a problem with you. And it will all come to a head soon enough you pompous f*ck stick
What a wimp. He calls a presser only after his rear-end is safely back for another 4 years. He should just wear his ‘mom jeans’ and put on that stupid bike helmet to show how much a ‘man’ he is.
It’s also the only thing we will be able to afford for dinner after Jan 1 taxmageddon
“Is this what they promised Rice when she was sent out to lie for the regime? The SoS slot?”
Well, just be glad it’s not Jan “The Man” Napolitano!/s;)
We are going to get Susan Rice as SoS and John “Hanoi” Kerry as SecDef.
I'd like to know if there's ANYTHING 0bama could get impeached for. He's proven he cannot be impeached no matter what he does. That's when you know you have a Dictator, not an American president. He's obliterated all ethical and moral standards of the office. Stolen bc, stolen social security numbers, forged selective service cards.. We were forewarned.
