On MSNBC this afternoon, Ayman Mohyeldin, NBC News' correspondent located in Gaza, essentially went on a pro-Hamas rant when he complained that the United States doesn't acknowledge Hamas and will not "reign in" Israel.
Mohyeldin: Well the United States can definitely play a pivotal role. I dont think people in this part of the world feel it has played the role it should be playing. And that really comes down to two very important factors: One, the United States does not have any direct contact with the Palestinian factions which it, and Israel, and others label as terrorist organizations. Despite the fact Hamas did win democratic elections here, despite the fact that it is a part of the fabric of Palestinian politics. That simply cannot be ignored or isolated or marginalized. They have instead focused on the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, and this hasnt necessarily produced tangible results. So, theres a lot of problems in terms of getting everyone on the same table. Not everyone sits at the same table. So, people would first, and U.S. officials in the past, including President Jimmy Carter and others, theyve argued that that dynamic in itself has to change; there has to be a bigger, wider table for negotiations in order for this problem to be solved. The other issue has to be able to reign in Israel in terms of the actions it takes on the ground. We referenced this yesterday, one of the biggest issues, and because Israel is such a dependent recipient of U.S. military aid, and money, that when it comes to Israeli settlement expansion in the West Bank, it hasnt stopped, despite the fact that the U.S. opposes this policy.

I think everyone would be in agreement here that if a rocket hit MSNBC it wouldn’t be a bad thing
Someone should tell this moron there is not nor ever has been a Palestinian territory. Stop the friggin rockets and stop them forever or we’re gonna jack you up.
Uh, that should be “rein in”, not “reign in”.
Who cares? The Jews in America don’t. In fact, they’re the one’s running NBC and MSNBC.
Mom? :-)
Sadly, that's true.....at least for the 67% who voted for OblameA.
Buses blown up by Israel: 0
Restaurants blown up by Israel: 0
Olympic athletes killed by Israel: 0
Number of airplanes hijacked by Israel: 0
Heabolla, Hamas, the PA and other assorted TERRORIST organizations have done these atrocious acts and others too numerous to mention!
Hezbolla
The Jews in America dont. In fact, theyre the ones running NBC and MSNBC.
They should be caring because they will have to answer to Jehovah God one day. And, anyone who can watch their people get bombed every day and not care is beyond me.
You gotta be careful what you say reporting from HamasLand.
lol!!!
How the NYT covers Evil ... there is no equivalence between Israel and these inhuman swine.
Ebola works too ;)
Hamas is a terrorist organization in spite of MSNBC saying it isn’t.
I would gladly exchange the 0bama Jews for most of the Jews in Israel. Let them deal with the incoming bombs and missiles.
You don’t “reign”in anything....you rein it in
Not mom. I'm guessing another grown up like myself who is tired of reading articles we are expected to take seriously about important topics but that are written without a basic proficiency in English. It is bad enough that the MSM has chosen to renege on its first amendment responsibilities regarding the free press. But the new media sources that choose to pick up the banner and carry on need to be careful about how they present the news. Not that I am ungrateful for their efforts in seeking out facts and relaying them to the public, but get a proofreader.
'nuff said.
