What Obama Really Wants
Tea Party Nation ^ | 11/30/12 | Judson Phillips

Reports are pouring out of Washington about the Fiscal Cliff negotiations. A lot of people observing the negotiations are outraged by what is going on. Instead of being outraged, and there is plenty of time for outrage; we should take a look at what is going on.

If you analyze the negotiations, it tells you a lot about what is going on in Washington and what may happen.

What is going on inside these negotiations?

Boehner and the GOPe are perfect tools for Obama. Either going over the cliff or abstaining on all votes and allowing the Rats to have everything they want would be better strategies than embracing an Obama deal.

RE :”The Republicans have already painted themselves into a corner. When they agreed to the sequestration deal back in 2011, the Republicans gave away their strongest negotiating points. The cuts the GOP agreed to back in 2011 would be the most painful for the GOP. This was John Boehner’s brilliant idea that would “force” negotiations to reach an equitable settlement.
....
Unfortunately for the Republicans and for America, the Obama Regime has no interest in fair agreement. They do not look at negotiations as a forum for compromise so that the best ideas can prevail. They look at negotiations as another battleground just like elections. They do not want a fair agreement. They want to win.
(DUHHHH!)
Obama approaches these negotiations knowing a couple of things. First, his team has done such a good job of messaging on the fiscal cliff; most polls show the public will blame the Republicans for the fiscal cliff.
Obama knows the drive by media will cover him. They will dutifully report that anything other than a complete capitulation will be portrayed as Republicans trying to protect millionaires and trying to screw the middle class.
The other thing he knows is he has an opponent who has no stomach for the fight. John Boehner will not stand and fight. When you have an opponent who will not fight, why even try to be reasonable.
....
Obama believes he is in the driver’s seat. He believes Boehner will fold and give him everything he wants. If Boehner folds and gives Obama everything he wants, not only does Obama continue to destroy America, he destroys the Republican Party at the same time.
Boehner has a BATANA. It is to simply walk away from the negotiations. Boehner should realize that even if the fiscal cliff turns into a disaster now, by the time the 2014 elections come along, the fiscal cliff will be long forgotten. What will not be forgotten is if Boehner surrenders to Obama

The above is pretty accurate, and he says what I been saying for almost two years:

1) Obama wants to win
2) I dont know what Republicans want, to whine?

I would add to his advice:
Pass a partial extension of the taxe cuts in the House <$250K, send it to Senate and cover every talk show and run commercials pointing out that Oama’s key argument (Rich vs middle class) has been neutralized. You protected 'the middle class'

Then ask Obama what HE needs and what he is willing to pay for it.

Ridiculous. If we go over the cliff the media will spend the next 4 years bashing repubs about it just like they blame the 2008 collapse on us. The best solution is to vote present, let Obamanomics ruin the country and then we pick up the pieces.

I suggest a Two prong attack: Conservative legislators hammering away at the phoney Obama budget proposals. And wanna-bees (as in stingers) hammering away at government policies I outline here http://www.theusmat.com/ and stuff the Romney campaign should have been hitting on.

Gingrich did a good job of outlining an approach on Greta Van Susteren’s show. Break the ‘cliff’ into separate ‘foothills’ and put forth legislation on each...then let the Senate pass or not pass it. Do it in the OPEN. But do it now. Breaking it up into smaller pieces is a better way to tackle large problmes, will draw distinctions that can be articulated WELL into the media and keeps a single monstrosity bill from being drafted/negotiated/passed behind closed doors and in the middle of the night. I’m sick of this holiday crisis that they pull each year. Sick of it.

He is right,
Bohner took over the House then (in each crisis) pulled the same crap that that he was critical of Dems for :Crafting a bill in secret and then twisting arms to get quick passage , worse yet with Pelosi’s blessing.

They wont do it because they agree on little individually, but the House must extend just some of those tax cuts or they will be crusified for once again trying to raise taxes on the middle class.

The budget control act from last year ended up a noose around Ryan's neck as a VP candidate,

I disagree that the ‘blame with be forgotten in the 2014 elections.”

The one thing these progressives are damn good at is messaging blame and making it stick.

The country is done, over, toast...all that is left is to split the spoils....

Negotiating with Boehner is like negotiating with Neville Chamberlain. “Mr. President, just tell me how far you want me to bend over.”

Time for new leadership.

Yet, Boehner will still be Speaker in January. Once again, the GOP returns the same leadership. We have unable to take control of the party leadership and there are the usual objections to a new third party. We never seem to get out of the swamp even when the leadership campaigns against the base.

I heard on Fox that Emperor 0bama wants authority to raise the debt ceiling as he pleases. Then there would be no debt ceiling. Anyone who doesn’t think he wants to be/is a dictator is sadly mistaken.

From the article: "If he (Boehner) does (capitulate), it will mean the end of the Republican Party as a national party."

And this will be a "bad" thing?

I have honestly observed is:

Key point 1)
Democrats REALLY WANT TO WIN, they NEEd to win. Its like Clubber lang in Rocky III. He was hungry and winning was his #1 goal, congressional Rs??? They are like Rocky in the beginning of that movie, weak and and act like victory will be handed to them, even after they lose and lose .

Key point 2)
Democrats know how to win.

When these fights come up it looks like O polls tests everything he says :”Let the VERY wealthy pay a little more to protect the mmiddle class from more pain” then he delivers it after practice. Everything he says is designed to win with KEY voters. and his team follows his lead. And he carefully selects his fights.

Congressional Republicans seem to (more before the election than now) just go out and say anything on their minds no matter how badly received it will be received, and how effectly it will be used a weapon to crush them.
last year :”Shut down the gubment” and”Default” were sure fired ways to lose to Obama.

Republicans cave because they lose, they dont seem to know how to win. They need to learn HOW to explain their positions so the resonate with general voters, not just the Rush 24/7 crowd or their primary voters. It does us no good if you win a primary and then lose to a Dem, or if you vote against stuff your party caves on anyway, that is still losing.

My proof: When Rs had winning hands in 2009/2010 (didnt need a good strategy or party control then) even the weakest kneed NE RINO joined them to take stands.

Bonehead and Co could drop trow and give Zero EVERYTHING he wants, and then some.

Zero will STILL blame them and the MSM will allow it to go unchecked.

So bonehead might as well do the right thing and let it crash. Get it over with and then find his spine and get to work rebuilding it.

Honestly, Bonehead should just go back to watching soap operas. He allowed this to happen when this stupid plan was cooked up.
