In the guy’s defense, it has to be said that showbiz figures are a little unbalanced at the best of times, and spend a good chunk of their careers striking poses to get the public’s attention. That said, I have no clue why this guy’s song became a big hit - he’s ugly as sin and what passes for music in the song is IMO unlistenable.
To be fair, pretty much everyone in South Korea not old enough to remember the war hates Americans worse than they fear the North Koreans. Why we continue to spend a dime to defend that rock is mystifying.

It’s supposedly a send-up of snooty nouveau-riche living in a wealthy district of Seoul. The Korean version of the American dream, and for their wisdom and good fortune they are hated for it. Nouveau-riche that hardly anybody else had even heard about much less hated, but I guess it got under PSY(chotic?)’s skin.
I guess the song’s catchy enough, and the acting in it was intensely researched before being choreographed. We have a focus grouped production here. Yeah, the main actor himself is no fashion plate and there are some crudely suggestive scenes in it.
