Woman Hiding in Attic Shoots Intruder Five Times to Protect Her Children [GA]

It seems as though real life examples of guns saving -- rather than taking -- innocent life go largely unreported (or flat-out ignored) in the mainstream media. Therefore, I have decided to post the following must-read story in its entirety (via Cameron Gray):

A woman hiding in her attic with children shot an intruder multiple times before fleeing to safety Friday.

The incident happened at a home on Henderson Ridge Lane in Loganville around 1 p.m. The woman was working in an upstairs office when she spotted a strange man outside a window, according to Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman. He said she took her 9-year-old twins to a crawlspace before the man broke in using a crowbar.

But the man eventually found the family.

"The perpetrator opens that door. Of course, at that time he's staring at her, her two children and a .38 revolver," Chapman told Channel 2’s Kerry Kavanaugh.

The left wants desperately to take this right away from us. They want the “downtrodden oppressed underclass” to waltz right in and take what is “rightfully” his.

she emptied int egun into him yet he was still able to drive away. sounds like a call for a bigger magazine (I know the revolver only has six shots)

I heard the phone call from that.

The husband was on the phone with the wife AND the Police at the same time and he can be heard chuckling and telling her to “shoot him again” over and over... He couldnt wait for her to kill someone.

This is the type of idiot I would prefer NOT TO have a gun- The gun is to defend yourself. Once the threat was gone you dont need to shoot it.

Simply announcing that you have a gun often is sufficient. the femboi reporter who wrote an article about giving up his guns because he was too much of a pansy to actually use it missed the point of having one completely- as soon as he racked it the sound made the criminal run his ass off to get away from there. THREAT ELIMINATED by just the sound...

We had a LEO female officer STOP a school shooting, by killing the scum bag, that did not make the msm news agenda. Thank you Carolyn Guc for making a Tennessee school safer and saving lives, money and time trying this scum bag...good shooting.

While the hubby was playing pansy on the phone his wife was taking care of business. I was taught by my former LEO instructors to EMPTY the chamber, and reload instantly and shoot again if need be. They will sue you no matter what, safe yourself a lot a grief and the state money take out the scum bag who will only do 1/3rd of his sentence and get out and go on with his current profession until some one does take him out.

Better than fighting 6 parole hearings for a tad of justice for the person he will kill.

Mother of a child murdered to see what it felt like....where is my Fence POST BAN, I’ve been waiting 23 years for one.

My Jeremy’s killer now walks a free man after a measly 14.5 years out of 20 year plea bargain, first parole hearing 10 MONTHS after sentencing. He maxed out his ‘not so good behavior time’.

And I’m sorry does not bring back my sweat, loving son Jeremy or the grand children he will never give me. He will forever be 16

Murder hurts forever for those of us who are the relatives of the victim. Especially if you are the mom and dad.

Ditto for those who kill yourselves because real life is hard, you HURT forever those you leave behind.

Did you read the story? The women was in the attic with her children and the perp came after them. You are a fool—a gun is not a safety blanket that chases away the bogey-man; it is a tool designed to kill. Used properly, it prevents recidivism 100% of the time.

If you want to scare someone, shout, “Boo!”

If you want to kill someone, shoot them (preferably numerous times)! If you are not prepared to kill, don’t have or brandish a weapon.

If you have a small bore weapon--say a .22, empty the chamber/magazine, or risk just making him mad enough to really do you harm.(notice the perp was able to drive away) Someone breaking into a home and hunting unti confronting the occupants is up to no good, period.

That hesitation when you say "Stop or I'll shoot" could just sign your own death warrant. The woman did the right thing.

This is the Liberals true agenda:

“The most effective means of fighting crime in the United States is to outlaw the possession of any type of firearm by the civilian population.”
Attorney General, Janet Reno, 1991 speech to B’nai B’rith in Fort Lauderdale (St. Louis Post-Dispatch, August 25, 1996, p. 3B).

“What good does it do to ban some guns? All guns should be banned.”
Sen. Howard Metzanbaum.

“Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed.”
Sara Brady, Chairman, Handgun Control, to Sen.Howard Metzanbaum, The National Educator, January 1994, p. 3.

“We’re going to have to take this one step at a time, and the first step is necessarily— given the political realities— going to be very modest. Our ultimate goal—total control of all guns—is going to take time. The first problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns being produced and sold in this country. The second problem is to get handguns registered, and the final problem is to make possession of all handguns, and all handgun ammunition totally illegal.”
Nelson T. (Pete) Shields, III, founding Chair of Handgun Control, Inc

(See tagline.)

That hesitation when you say "Stop or I'll shoot" could just sign your own death warrant. The woman did the right thing.

The past week, CBS's show "Blue Bloods" had a scene where a reporter was attacking police commissioner Tom Selleck over a clean shooting.

Selleck's character illustrated the point by asking the reporter what he would do differently and the reporter said, "Well first of all..." and Selleck said, "Too late; you're dead."

Do you have to resort to name calling to make your point?

I understand your point, and do not disagree with it.

I read the story. I am just pointing out that there are many reasons for giving the left more reasons to hate gun owners.

They will say she didnt warn him, she just blasted away.

I personally LOVE the fact that the perp was on the floor begging her not to shoot him any more...

The coolest use I ever saw of a weapon was when me and a friend were in AZ and standing outside a car talking on the phone in a bad area. It turned out the car he thought he was there to buy was a setup- they just wanted to lure someone with deposit cash to a blind alley and rob them.

Three thugs walked our way while he was on the phone, and he simply opened his shoulder vest pulled out his 38 and waved it, and they took off running.

You want to have a gun and let everyone know so you DONT HAVE TO use it. I was also in the miltary police and know officers in the reserves who have had to shoot someone- they are NOT happy about the experience.

I was only commenting on the fact that the husband sounded giddy and more happy that his wife was shooting someone than he was about anything else. It did not sound good.

“pulled out his 38 and waved it”

I lose my CCW in GA if I brandish my firearm absent an active threat.

I disagree - this is the type of person that deserves the right to possess and use a gun. There was no “chuckling” in that tape, simply the earnest desire that she successfully protect herself and her children. The fact that the perp walked away, says she shouldn’t have stopped shooting, yet. I understand she exhausted the capacity of her revolver. This is an ad for pistols with higher capacity magazines, in my mind.
