On his Monday radio show, conservative talker Mark Levin said that if President Barack Obama sidesteps Congress on the debt ceiling fight and attacks the Congress’ constitutionally enumerated “core power” – that is control over spending and taxing — through executive action, Congress will have “no choice” but impeachment.
Levin explained that if unilateral action by the White House — which White House spokesman Jay Carney ruled out — were to happen, it would infringe on Congress’ “core power” and should be punished with impeachment.
“Now, if Obama unilaterally acts — and I think there’s a fan-dance going on here where his spokes-idiot [Jay] Carney is out there saying, ‘No, we’ve decided we’re not going to do this’ — if Obama, though, plays the role of Hamlet and in the end says ‘I have no choice: The Republicans are going to destroy our economy, our debt rating, all this that and the other, therefore I must unilaterally act,’ he should be impeached,” Levin declared. “Because that means Congress’ core power — in addition to declaring war — Congress’ core power, that is control over spending and taxing, will have been seized by the president of the United States in one executive order.”
“No Congress would tolerate this from any president,” Levin continued. “I don’t care if the president was Abraham Lincoln. This Congress would not have tolerated it from Richard Nixon. No Congress can tolerate such a complete and brazen frontal assault on its enumerated power. No Congress. No twisting of the language in the 14th Amendment or any way else, because we will cease to be a federal government of three coequal branches. We will cease to be that.”
And that, Levin said, would throw the entire American constitutional system of government out of order.
“And what are we going to do, ladies and gentlemen?” he said. “Throw our entire system away? Our entire Constitution away? Our entire financial system away for Obama? Why?”
“So, if a president commits a high crime and misdemeanor, which in this case is a brazen frontal attack on the Constitution itself in a way that no president has ever attacked the Constitution — ceasing power unilaterally from the Congress — then we have no choice, do we?” Levin added. “Do we, than to remove him from office? What do you think about that one, Colin Powell?”
Earlier in the day, Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman made headlines for threatening that he would file articles of impeachment against Obama if the president institutes gun control measures with an executive order.
We do have that attitude, and it is deleterious. For instance fellow Freepers often make me cringe with embarrassment when they rant about Obama the evil, Marxist, Kenyan, Muslim, usurper. Come on, he’s just one guy. It’s not even accurate to say he forms his own policy, let alone his party’s or the leftists’ as a whole. Certainly he’s not responsible fir the landslide into the pit of statism iver the last 80, 100, or 150 years. And Al Gore or John Edwards might’ve been worse.
That being said, there are things you just can’t do. Congress shouldn’t twist itself into a prezel, but if they do the president can’t step up like the only adult in the room and decide for them.
so it would be a pointless gesture in the end.
This whole thing needs to come to a head; sooner than later.
It does and impeaching Obama wouldn’t solve much.We’d just end up with another turd in the Whitehouse.
If and when the Senate allows a budget to be passed then you would be correct.
As well, a budget passed by leftists before they were kicked out in 2010 is still being used as the basis for government spending today. The new House has yet to even have the chance to cut spending.
With no budget appropriations passed the government has been operating on continuing resolutions that maintain spending that actually has increases built into it.
Right now the House can do nothing to cut and control spending except NOT extend the debt ceiling -every other action requires Senate cooperation and the leftist controlled Senate does not want to cut spending...
Obama is evil personified. Obama is a clear and present danger to the Republic.
Here is the structural problem - Federal, state local. Our representatives crap on us. When we realize we’ve been crapped the people who did the crapping have move on.

By the way, in order for a bill to become law the president has to sign it. Or Congress has to override h’s veto, but nevermind, because Obama did sign these laws. They are as much his as Congress’.
Obama is not evil personified. Why would you even say that? What are you going to call the next Dem president? More evil personified? He’s just one guy. The problem is leftism, socialism, libism, progressivism, or whatever you call it. Obama has it more than some, but even compared to Pubs it’s only a matter of degree.
Am I defending him? From overzealous criticism, yes, but only so as we don’t shoot our wad against the wrong target. It does no good to pretend like Obama is the problem when it’s leftism, not him. He’s just a figurehead.

Will he ‘have to be impeached’ for that too? What abotu when he attacks the Christian faith, and bans them from freely excersizing hteir right to public display?

Once you have a conviction, then you have a proven felony, a "high crime." Impeachment on interpretive grounds alone is just blowing smoke.
I really do think Obama is evil and I am not saying that lightly. I really do beleive it there is something about
him that just doesnt sit right with me.

Supporting organizations such as the OathKeepers that only accept former and active duty military and law enforcement members is something everyone should be looking into. They pledge to disobey 10 orders that are aimed at other American citizens and are unconstitutional. Orders that go against their constitutional oaths. You can donate and help with the outreach campaigns without having to be former or active military or law enforcement. The goal is to reach those who will have to enforce a tyrannical government. Now they are raising money to expand a billboard campaign placing them outside of military bases.
Groups like this need to reach the masses, and everyone can help achieve that to some degree.

Exactly. They proved this when they allowed Obama to take our nation to war on his own. Couple of BAAAHHHHH’s from the congressional sheep, but then back to grazing.
