A bipartisan group of senators has agreed on a set of principles for a sweeping overhaul of the immigration system, including a pathway to American citizenship for 11 million illegal immigrants that would hinge on progress in securing the borders and ensuring that foreigners leave the country when their visas expire.

At least we held off on this amnesty crap until after the economy tanked. I don’t think there’s much incentive for these people to become citizens anymore, as illegals have been granted so damn many benefits already without the benefit of being on the IRS’s radar.

The thing that pisses me off most is the fact that these RINOs are using the democrat strategy of overwhelming the public.

THE GOATHERD AND THE WILD GOATS (an Aesop fable)
A goatherd was tending his goats out at pasture when he saw a number of wild goats approach and mingle with his flock. At the end of the day he drove them home and put them all into the pen together. Next day the weather was so bad that he could not take them out as usual, so he kept them at home in the pen and fed them there. He only gave his own goats enough food to keep them from starving, but he gave the wild goats as much as they could eat and more, for he was very anxious for them to stay, and he thought that if he fed them well they wouldn’t want to leave him.
When the weather improved he took them all out pasture again, but no sooner had the got near the hills than the wild goats broke away from the flock and scampered off. If you treat newcomers like ourselves so much better than your own flock, it’s more than likely that, if another lot of strange goats joined yours, we should be neglected in favor of the last comers.’

When the GOP helps Obama surrender to millions of foreigners living here illegally, how many minutes will it take for ten millions more to figure out that they, too, can get amnesty?
All they have to do is sneak into the US and then start clamoring for citizenship. The Evil Party and the Stupid & Craven Party will give it to them. The more that come here, the more the GOP will be whoring after them and turning themselves into a left wing party.
And you will be taxed to support them. Get ready for graffiti and gangs to come to your neighborhood real soon. Get ready to be surprised when you hear English spoken in public. What happened to California will happen to you.
What part of ‘illegal’ do these Senators and Representatives not understand?
They are putting out the same old canards: enforce border security, yada yada yada.
How did that work out in the previous amnesty bills? Answer: It didn’t, because they never bothered TO enforce the border security.

I hate to throw cold water on Orrin and Marco’s grand scheme but polls have shown that only about 20% of illegals have any desire to become American citizens. Most of them are proud to be Mexican and they are basically here for the goodies. They don’t want to speak English or give up their citizenship they just want to work, send money home get free eductions for their kids, healthcare etc.
So bottom line if given amnesty out of 11 million only about 2.2 million are going to come out of the shadows.
The other obvious problem is that we all know the border will not be secure and millions more will come across.
What good ole Orrin and Marco won’t bother to tell you is that we already have at least 4 guest worker programs right now that allow people to come in, work and then go home. The other thing they won’t tell you is that approx 75% of the folks who pick our crops are American citizens.
The political elite want a good flow of illegals coming into this country for reasons that are not clear to me but I’m sure are to them. Its going to continue and I doubt that anything other than the 1776 solution is going to change it.
