NRA Winning the Influence Battle Over Gun Control

The gun control debate is clearly one of the most contentious and controversial issues in America today. And the battle over gun control is now being waged through intensive media campaigns from both sides of the political spectrum to influence public opinion and to assert pressure on policy makers. So who’s winning? To find out, we turned to objective data provided exclusively to Forbes Insights by Appinions, the influence marketing platform. Keep in mind Forbes Insights has no agenda other than to shed research light on the process of measuring influence and what we can learn from it. The facts are objective, whatever your perspective on the issue may be. We certainly don’t aim to promote either side and are just stating the facts of influence and who is leading or gaining ground through the lens of influence.

Forbes Insights and Appinions looked at the data for the week prior to the Sandy Hook tragedy and trended the data over the subsequent 5 weeks to determine the ebb and flow over the gun control debate. We found that the NRA and the pro-gun rights voices are winning the influence battle and will continue to be strong and more influential if the pro gun control voice remains fragmented. On the flip side, the pro gun control voice could certainly gain influence if they establish a more united voice. Here are some other interesting observations from the data:

Republican politicians are missing from the debate. The debate is an influence battle between President Barack Obama’s Democrats and Wayne LaPierre’s NRA. Of the top 25 stakeholders in the debate, there is only 1 prominent Republican politician (Chris Christie – who is pro-gun control).

I have no idea how good this data is. I know that several Republicans, such as Ted Cruz and Governors Jindal and Perry have been very outspoken. My guess is that they are not considered opinion leaders because their voices have been mostly ignored by the MSM.

There is an interesting graphic that is a bit hard to decipher at the site.

Politicians and politics are stupid!!!!!!!

If they are paying attention, hard to tell as their heads are usually up their own ass’s or someone else’s especially if it involves special interests that give them campaign money, and a supper duper job later on, all tax free of course.

Democrats and RINOS
GOD DENIERS AND CONGENITAL LIARS
ARE REDISTRIBUTE WEALTH INCITERS/
FOR FIRST YOUR MONEY THEN YOUR GUNS
AND BE DEFENSELESS WHEN CROOKS COME

(The above is designed to be printed up and passed around your precinct and your friends and neighbors as a (index sized) palmcard.

Conservatives and supporters of the 2nd amendment the Obama regime is using the 2nd amendment argument to blame gun owners for its inability to deal with the hundreds of gangland murders and shootings commited in areas under their solid control using illegally obtained firearms.

Obama’s solution to those inner city problems is to remove those rights provided by the constitution to have and bear arms from all US citizens before any search an seizure begins in those troublesome areas which by the way will never happen.

But none of those 23 so called “reforms” and unconstitutional efforts being edicted by who some call an emperor do not deal with the following issues briefly outlined below let alone insane shooters using stolen weapons. .

They won’t because instead of creating a uniformly democratic society where every citizen has an equal voice no matter what their race or ethnicity.

Obama’s policies have divided races and ethnic groups gerrymandering congressional districts where much of this criminal activity occurs.

GOPES {G-overment O-f (the) P-eople (republican party) E-lite-S} see this issue as a 3rd rail because most of it is black on black or illegal vs illegal (Mexican) activity .

GOPES are also afraid to say that policy also increased racial tension which has resited in deaths. But again GOPES accept this because of the influence of mainline socialist media which would be accusing them of “racism” if they dare to question it.

The purpose of all this hype on guns is to keep the right and conservatives focused on what the Demo-Coms describe as issues through their propaganda arm known as the MSM (mainline socialist media) not on the problems created by the “Libs” on their road of good intentions or the socialist/fascists/communists successors to comtrol over todays Democrat party;

Which is the cost ,waste, and corruption of this administration which had led to a 16 trillion dollar deficit.

Not one word addresses or offers a solution about the hundreds of gangland murders and shootings using illegaly obtained mostly handguns and revolvers .

Perpetuating the general populations ignorance and using code words like “assault rifles” they’re demonizing single shot per trigger pull semi automatic rifles, used for small game hunting or target practice. That are legal in every state but made to look like their military counterpart..

Military AR’s since Viet Nam and a DOD decision ARs are really medium caliber (22.3) machine guns designed to wound not necessarilly kill which is why they are automatic and fire as many rounds that are in its magazine once the trigger is kept in the pulled position.

They replace quick kill 30 caliber semi automatic (single shot) M-1, Springfield rifles and carbines used during WWII and Korea and approved in most states for use in big game hunting.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2977901/posts NY Post pix of shooter using handgun

Obama certainly can’t critique a system created by his ilk .Ignored in his 23 edicts is that when once caught, perps get set free with lenient sentencing from “liberal” judges or sob sister plea bargain prosecution (which Obama supports for when a Illinois state senator while introducing legislation to sentence any 15 year old as an adult,(opps they could be fatherless) Obama voted “absent” with others on that roll call vote. But that leniency is promoted by the MSM,The New York Times CNN, NBC and,ABC. There’s certainly no criticism of “no snitch” mentality partcularly in areas where these shootings are rampant.

It would be nice at these rallys if conservatives would point these facts out to Obamas adoring public

Christie will enter the G.O.P. primaries for the 2016 nomination along with 6 other much more conservative candidates and win the nomination, with a lot of help from Coulter, Hannity, Krautheimer, et al.

Romney 2 anyone?

Attacks on our Second Amendment rights are a recurring theme for liberals/socialists/statists and leftist Democrats. The attacks have happened many times before and serious one is happening now.

The NRA is our main shield against these attacks. Its strength is because its membership is made up of seven plus millions of loyal, constitution respecting and active American citizens who believe strongly in firearms ownership and use as part of their God given natural rights. Our dues and interest in the cause keep our NRA strong.

We will beat back this Obama led attack and any ones later as long as there is liberty in our hearts.

Out of all the battles Republicans have taken on against Dems the past few years this one looks like an easy winner for them.

They pretty much lost the other ones.

One thing to consider :
Dems won the gay rights, abortion and birth control fights (with most US voters, obviously not all states) because they portrayed those as ‘individual rights’ that Republicans want to take away from them(US voters) .
Agree or disagree that is how they won them nationally.

So Republicans got an easy job beating Dems in a public relations fight over Americans ‘individual rights’ to own firearms and protect themselves.

Having (Senate) bills die because the House doesn’t take them up isn’t a big deal because O convinced Americans that the GOP just wants to obstruct,

But kill them in the Senate and it is a huge failure for O and Reid. And personally, I am long ready to see that happen.

It's not Christie's turn yet. Jeb Bush has been penciled in as the GOP elite's chosen candidate for 2016.

Truth against lies is always a contentious argument and the truth only prevails when the naysayers have a stake in the truth coming out. While the Left is all for a Nanny State, there are also a number of them that are still at least partially mentally aware and they can see that something is being taken from them too in this issue. Too bad they can’t see how much self-respect and honor has been taken away as they follow the “shepherd” out into the fields to get their “free” “living”.

Hard to see how even the spineless Republicans could lose the gun issue.

The NRA recently announced that it seeks to expand its membership by giving out grants and legal help to gun clubs only if their members join the group, which already has 4.5 million members.
