Sometimes it’s not the actual damage that’s done by a boycott it’s just the threat or thought of it and the bad PR it creates that moves companies like that to act.

Good point.

Problem is that certain executives are so totally in the tank for PC and anti-family causes that they actually value liberal compliance by their company higher than they value sales and profits! And with a board of directories composed of like kinds there is no chance for sanity to prevail. Doesn't seem to be an obvious path to resolution to this except maybe the passage of time when/if the pendulum swings back.

I also believe that parents would pay for their kids to be in the Boy Scouts without the gay stuff.......these people just don’t want gay boys to be able to join, they want leaders and scout masters and that is not acceptable.

Yeah, I wish the companies would cave to conservative pressure but it'll never happen. Penneys had very little (if anything)to do with Ellen and everything to do with crappy management.

I currently have six grandsons involved in Scouts. I would gladly sponsor all of them whatever amount the AT&T's and ExxonMobils of the corporate world take away in the name of political correctness.

Additionally, most of their parents could pick up the slack so my money could go to some poorer kids.

Because the whole point is to make more and more people’s lives as uncomfortable as possible until they are given everything they want just to get them to shut up and go away.

This is a trick that every child tries beginning at around age two or three (although it can get even worse during the teenage years). Most parents learn to just ignore it and the child figures out pretty quickly that this tactic doesn’t work. Maybe this group is just too collectively stupid to figure it out.

This is all backwards. The Boy Scouts should have taken a stand on principle and refused to accept money from institutions who were being taken over by sodomites and others whose own princuples of operation were not in concert with those of the Boy Scout Oath and Promise.

The BSA should have refused dependence on the support of companies subscribing to such compromise -- including extending troop status for religious organizations that do likewise. And such denominations are now plural. Do they not influence young men to have the wrong idea what moral decency really is? From the pulpit and the Sunday school class? Eh?

For many years, the leaders of the Scouts have gotten too tight with Big Business and come to depend on their largess. They were selling their image to this business big shots. The gays have tarnished that image thru incessant attack. So the big companies are backing away. The Scouts are going have to think small again, and just realize that they won’t be hobnobbling with the big boys anymore. I wonder if their egos can stand the punishment that has been visited upon the Catholic Church. There is a huge new encampment that is being built in West Virginia, and my guess is that they are depending on continuing donations from those same big shots. Of course, if the cave, then they will lose up to half their membership, because so many troops are connected with conservative churches. If they change their national policy and leave it to local option, then they expose those local troops and its leaders to legal attack.

The corporations that are globalist in ideology are pursuing a one world leftist values, regulation and enforcement. They have chosen the Chi-com marxist/fascist model of global rule. The freedoms and governing structure of the US constitution (and the Americans that insist upon the rule of law), must be overcome by any means neccessary for globalists to progress their one world culural and ruling agenda.

I just heard BSA has delayed any decision. During that pendency, supporters of BSA who want to maintain the exclusion of gays (especially leaders) should target ONE former donor that has now withdrawn support. Just one, not a blanket boycott. Those never work.

Unfortunately, the gay groups’ members have fewer demands on their time than Scouts’ parents, to organize protests, to generate letters, calls, etc. So a concentrated effort towards just one company would be the effective way to go about it for supporters.

It’s effectively what the Obama EPA administrator talked about in the crucifying a few men in a conquered village so the others could see what might be in store for them if they don’t go along with the program. Turn around/fair play and all that jazz.

If you want to see what's going to happen to BSA should they reject the Scout Oath and the Scout Law, just look at what happened to the Episcopal Church of the US after they embraced “alternate lifestyles.”

In 1970 the Episcopal Church had nearly 900,000 children enrolled in their Sunday School offerings, nationwide. By 2003, after they'd become “gay-friendly,” the numbers of children enrolled in those same programs had fallen to less than 300,000.

Was “all” that loss due to the alternate lifestyle issue? Certainly not. But when you look at the roles of similar programs in other Bible-based Churches your see a vastly different trend.
