Parents gain access to secret school curriculum

AUSTIN, Texas – Parents of school children across Texas now are gaining access to a previously secret public school curriculum, according to an announcement from a state lawmaker.

The CSCOPE program, an online offering that until now has prohibited, under penalty of law, teachers from sharing the lessons with parents, stirred up controversy because of its various lessons – some that were taken offline after the questions arose.

Among those issues were that the curriculum at one point taught the Boston Tea Party was an act of terrorism and Christians were cannibals, and forced students to draw a socialist flag while imagining a new socialist country.

Teachers also would have been exposed to criminal penalties for sharing CSCOPE lesson content with parents, and educators were required to teach strictly from the CSCOPE lesson plan, without additions or changes.

But Sen. Dan Patrick, R-Houston, whose Texas Senate Education Committee held a public hearing last week investigating CSCOPE, said there now have been “significant changes.”

The Texas Education Service Center Curriculum Collaborative, which owns CSCOPE, agreed to the following changes, effectively immediately, he said.

Those include: •All future meetings of the TESCCC governing board, beginning with the February meeting, will be public with all the respective notice requirements being met. •The TESCCC will begin a joint review process of all CSCOPE lessons with the SBOE beginning ...........

secret public school
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Secret public? Huh?

An oxymoron as well as doublespeak.

What???

The patriotic Boston Tea Party was an act of terrorism? Is throwing some tea into the harbor as horrific as flying airplanes into skyscrapers, killing thousands? I think not. And Christians as cannibals?

Whether or not this insanity is true, parents have an absolute right to know what is going on in the schools that “educate” their children. There are many that can’t home school, for work reasons or what have you, or put their children in private schools.

The business as usual Republican politicians are too busy making speeches about the importance of education and the need to spend money on it.

They don’t look at education and demand that the indoctrination stops or the funding will.

Please visit this site. Brigitte Gabriel has alerted thousands of schools across the nation to the “creeping Islamic indoctrination” and the more parents and other people know the true threat and ammo to use against it, the better.

Please visit her site and share it with as many other parents, grandparents and concerned citizens as you can:

“If revealing the contents of the course could be punished with criminal prosecution, then SOMEBODY created that policy or voted for it. “

Agreed!! AND, we should DEMAND that the school tax (the Mill Rate?) be abolished if we, as citizens, have NO SAY in the workings of the very institutions that WE support with our tax dollars.

Most schools I see around my neck of the woods have tracks, basketball courts, huge parking lots, and probably indoor swimming pools! They are huge and look like government buildings!

They don’t NEED money-—they WANT money for their UNION INDOCTRINATORS—teachers!

The best “ammo” is to remove your children from the government indoctrination centers, and work with likeminded people to SHUT DOWN the government indoctrination camps ( misnamed “schools”). Put the Marxist indoctrinators out of business.

The government schools are stuffed full to the brim with Marxists, Useful Idiots, homosexuals, and homo supporters. You seriously think that cutting funding would stop the indoctrination? Really?

The only real solution is to work to shut government K-12 schools DOWN! Permanently!

Government schooling is the archetypal socialist-entitlement, GODLESS, single-payer, monopoly and price-cartel that supports and union run education-industrial complex! So?....When in the history of mankind has it every been possible to REFORM a government owned and run program that was a socialist-entitlement, single-payer, GODLESS, and union run monopoly and price-fixed cartel?

Answer: NEVER

I hear what you are saying and the absurdity of the situation challenges our sanity.

Indoctrination of teachers who in turn indoctrinate students.

The slow incremental desttruction of the nation from within.

There are some school buildings out there that look like palaces of ancient civilizations.

Sports facilities are common but the sports programs actually have the potential to train future warriors for our nation, so there is at least some benefit.

Political correctness is creeping into sports programs and one does wonder when they’ll move to ban football.

The witch hunt over concussions is moving at a quickening pace.

The buildings are expensive but even more expensive are pay and benefits for employees which total 80 or 90 percent of school budgets in California. The costs driven up by the need to maintain the pension system.

The governor here in PA is talking about cutting pension benefits for existing employees and replacing them for future hires with 401K’s.

If there is no reform I expect rising pension costs to cause school budgets in my area to be 80 percent employee pay and benefits by the end of the decade.

I agree wholeheartedly...

I don’t have children. But, I also pay the taxes for the indoctrination centers and I gotta tell you, I resent the hell out of it.

I may not have children, but I realize that I will eventually be prey to the commies coming out of them.

All the more reason to visit Gabriel’s site and actually DO something in your community about it.

I am thinking this secrecy surrounding what is being taught might be the reason I hear some progressives of late beginning to complain about homework. There needs to be something like room mothers who drop in randomly to listen in at school.

How about “significant firings” or “significant arrests?” ++++++= How about vocal, legible, and any obvious shunnings to redicule each and every day......refuse to sell to them, buy from them, or acknowlege them.
Make them happy to move on down the line. You can always get real mean if they can't take the hint. Bit never pass the task to any bureaucrat in the system.....takes the personal touch to be done right.
We did not recommend any monkey or guerilla warfare.....

“Nothing they do should be secret from parents. NOTHING.”

Why not - the parents aren’t paying for it, the government is. It’s none of the parents’ business what get taught.

...and that is how parents are looked at by the schools. Nothing will change. The parents are nothing more than babysitters for the kids, since housing the kids at school is still too expensive.

By the way, I heard this on the radio last week. It seems that not only were teachers criminally liable for disclosing C-SCOPE data, they had to sign a contract promising such.

Dan just blew up at C-SCOPE for that stunt. It’s great to have that guy peeling the onion, I’ve waited my life for it.
